Ghosts of your former self - 006

We’ve got a star guest this week! Tino Orsini is a versatile character actor — you might have seen him playing the artist Banksy in Ted Lasso. For his next trick he’ll be on stage performing an intimate solo show about his own dark past. It’s all based around the time he tried to make it in Hollywood.

We loved hearing Tino’s reflections on immigration, addiction, sex, family secrets and, of course, showbiz. His new show is called Ghosts of West Hollywood and it’s on 2-7 June at the Et Cetera theatre in London.

LAST FRIDAY NIGHT

Just a little recap from our recent event…

Queer Lit and Social Refuge welcomed Adam Zmith and Tash Walker for an evening of discussion around their book The Log Books.

It was truly both insightful and inspiringand also a powerful reminder of the struggles our LGBTQ+ community has faced across generations. Especially in these heightened political times, we’re reminded that history can repeat itself, and just how vital this work continues to be.

Being seen. Having our voices heard. Recording our lives for future generations.
If you were there, I’m sure you’ll agree - it was a memorable and moving conversation. If you'd like to get your hands on a signed copy you can grab yours here at Queer Lit while srtocks last.

You can support incredible work like this by following Aunt Nell’s projects. If you’d like to stay connected between episodes, they have a free newsletter you can sign up for at auntnell.com

And if you want to support them more directly and be part of the inner circle, their Patreon is just £4 a month - making a real difference to two independent queer storytellers.

Listen back to the latest episode of The Log Books: An Army of Lovers Cannot Fail - 003

Sometimes you read a book and feel ‘this is a bit of me!’ That’s how we both felt reading An Army of Lovers Cannot Fail, so we wanted to talk about it. It’s a book about friendship, across generations, and the power of queer solidarity. So it also led us to two recent photography exhibitions too.
-Adam + Tash

Discussed in this episode:
Book: An Army of Lovers Cannot Fail by Hélène Giannecchini
Exhibition: We Others: Donna Gottschalk and Hélène Giannecchini @ The Photographers’ Gallery until June 7th

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
