i think my favourite video we shot for bertie. super simple, super cold, subtle mk.gee vibes (hehe) all captured on a lavley forest road.
it’s weird writing this now, remembering how cold that day was. literally scrapping ice off the floor of the van so bertie wouldn’t be performing on a moving slip’n’slide! this one was pretty tough to finally get right with movement, van speed and mostly cus the new forest became the biggest hotspot for every jack, jane and their dog wanting to get a taste of the cold.
anyway...big big respect to cass for sorting out a solid rig, keeping me company in the back and finding a great frame to capture this song in. love to max and ethan for holding it down in the cab. thank you ivo for your editing goodness and creating a world-building soundscape for the opening. it was a pleasure to sit down with thomas at doma and create berties world.
and bertie, thank you for the ride and believing in the process.

it was nostalgic being back in broadstairs with bertie - which for years of our childhood, served as the backdrop to our friendship. summer days playing crazy golf, running into the warm(ish) sea, sandy feet and fish n chips with extra vinegar. it was that kinda full circle moment you get sometimes.
