The Alphabeticians (2026) short documentary – A master lettercutter is determined to pass the magic of her craft to the next generation.

Lida Cardozo Kindersley has devoted half a century to her craft. A momentous transition for her workshop becomes a portal for reflection – on the power of relationships, the mystery of creativity, and the legacies we leave behind.

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion addressing the legacy of heritage craft in the current age, the challenges faced and the importance of human making.

We're delighted to be joined by Prof. Marcus Waithe - co-author of Words Made Stone: The Craft and Philosophy of Letter Cutting, and Patricia Lovett MBE - celebrated scribe, calligrapher and illuminator, alongside Dr Lida Cardozo Kindersley and Roxanne Kindersley - lettercutters and partners of the Workshop, and Ross Harrison - director of the film.
