Yesterday, Eaton Canyon was abuzz with purpose as 100 volunteers gathered to remove invasive shrubs at the kickoff of @laclimateweek.

Removing invasives like wild mustard and fountain grass is key to the beloved canyon’s post-fire recovery. This lets native shrubs—that are more climate-adapted and fire-resistant—thrive.

With helping hands from @californiavolunteers, @laworksnow, the LA Conservation Corps, and many others, the land was cared for with dedication, strength, and heart.

The Governor’s team also shared that paid opportunities in climate action, disaster response, and recovery are available. More info at CAServiceCorps.com.

As our director shared with volunteers and Eaton Canyon docents, many who have lost their homes:

That’s what we tapped into at our first-ever Better Future Night last month as part of laclimateweek 🌍 

We watched Climate California, listened to climate data turned into music, played board games and video games about solving the climate crisis, created art, explored Doughnut Economics through sound + meditation, and stepped into solarpunk futures together.

The film explores the ongoing fight to remove four dams on the Snake River. At stake are Salmon and Steelhead runs, once among the greatest runs in the world, and the salmon-eating Southern Resident Orcas facing imminent extinction.

Our alliance was able to participate and host FIVE events across the third annual @laclimateweek April 8-15th! We were thrilled to be part of this wonderful programming alongside so many partner organizations and sustainability professionals.

An impactful day full of tabling, screenings, talks, and a fantastic panel on green production (pictured above)!

April 11th: Keystone ARTS AND CULTURE DAY at @skyportalx 🎭
Another all-day event featuring an amazing open art gallery, performances, readings, and workshops, including our own on sustainable filmmaking!

April 13th: SUSTAINABLE SCREENING SERIES hosted by @csulbgreenfilm and WE ARE GUARDIANS SCREENING hosted by @csun_gfsa 🍿
