#FlashbackFriday to last week’s OUSD STEM Fair at the @oaklandcoli where the Westlake Middle School Robotics Team absolutely showed up and showed out! 🏆✨

Building a robot isn't a one-person job. Westlake's brilliant young engineers broke it down section by section—front, back, sides, and internal parts—collaborating every step of the way to create a fully functional machine capable of tackling the @officialfirstlegoleague challenge. From lifting objects to pushing through obstacles, this team proved that teamwork truly makes the dream work. 🙌💻🧱

We are so incredibly proud of their dedication, innovation, and the way they represented the Westlake Eagles! 🦅💚💛

Four years ago, we transformed the schoolyard for Oakland Academy of Knowledge’s older students as one of our very first builds! Last Friday, we returned to do the same for the school’s youngest students.

TK–2nd graders at OAK now have a schoolyard of their own with kid-designed play structures, a multi-sport court, new soccer goals, nature exploration areas, a Little Town Library, mindfulness pillars created by Oakland high school students, and 10 shade umbrellas over the play structures — the most we’ve ever installed!

Build number 24 in partnership with @kaboom and @ousdnews, and the first of five planned for 2026 — because safe, beautiful places to play shouldn’t be an exception, they should be a given.
