Huge congratulations to Ishaan Singh on being named a 2026 Goldwater Scholar! Ishaan is one of three Boilermakers selected for this prestigious honor, and it could not be more well deserved.
A double major in honors physics and biochemistry in the @PurdueScience and John Martinson Honors College, Ishaan has already made a real mark on the research world as an undergraduate. His work in Professor Chi Zhang's lab led to a co-authored publication in The Journal of Physical Chemistry B exploring the sensitivity of Raman spectroscopic techniques. He also independently developed code for hardware control and image acquisition and authored a paper in Chemistry Methods advancing real-time precision opto-control.

Purdue researchers are pushing the boundaries of bio-integrated technology with a breakthrough in living neuroelectronics published in Science. Jianguo Mei, the Richard and Judith Wien Professor in @purduechemistry, partnered with Krishna Jayant of @purduebme to pioneer this innovative work.

Building upon the chemistry that oysters use in mileslong reefs, scientists have found a way to create cement that is stronger and cures faster. Jonathon Wilker, a professor of chemistry for in @PurdueScience and an expert in adhesives and biomimetic materials innovation, has long been interested in formulating new, more sustainable and better materials.

Congrats to EAPS assistant professor Ali Bramson, who has been named a winner of the 2026 Harold C. Urey Prize from the American Astronomical Society's Division for Planetary Sciences!
Bramson is one of two scientists selected for this year's honor, recognizing her groundbreaking work on subsurface ice on Mars, planetary radar science and future exploration across the solar system.

The College of Engineering and the College of Science are preparing to roll out an expanded array of educational opportunities, combining theory and practical application and covering quantum computing, sensing and communications.
