Kled (@UseKled), a startup building what it calls the first human data marketplace, has raised a $5.5 million seed round from investors including Wischoff Ventures, Aglaé (the venture fund of Bernard Arnault), K5 Global, Diplo, Parable VC, Cox Exponential (CX2), Daniel Greenberg, Harrison Shih, Kent Lacob, Luca Netz, 24kGoldn and others. The New York City–based company’s app allows users to upload personal data—such as everyday videos, receipts, dashcam footage and photos—and get paid for it, supplying AI and robotics companies with real-world training data. Kled says the app recently reached No. 1 in the App Store Finance category in four countries, with some users reportedly earning as much as $7,400 per month for contributing their data.
