Biome returns to Philadelphia for the first time since our inception in 2022, and this time we’ve invited local gem, @furtive.sasha , to take the reins after a warmup from resident, @t_shockley , on December 19th from 9pm–2am at the @dolphinphilly .We’ve had our ears on Furtive for some time now, so we are thrilled to be able to host them for our return at such an iconic space for dancing in Philadelphia. Come early and lose yourself in the fog with your friends for what’s sure to be a fantastic night of music.

Furtive is a full-gonzo polychromatic rave conjurer. A Philadelphia-based producer, DJ, visual artist, and event organizer, Furtive manifests the rave with technoid propulsion and delightfully unexpected whiplash moments of the sentimental and psychedelic. Furtive fosters underground community as a DIY rave organizer, co-founding and co-running Bounce House - a precious off-the-books warehouse venue in Philly. Riding high off recent performances at The Great Beyond, Honcho Campout, Nowadays, and more; and with regular radio appearances on Great Circles, The Lot, and beyond, Furtive brings an unapologetic finesse to their chameleonic sonic sorcery that’s bound to charm you.

On warmup, Taylor Shockley sets the tone with a hypnotic style that draws inspiration from nature, technology, futurism, and the human psyche. Stepping into 2025, we are over the moon to invite you to our fifth event on February 7th in the Sound Room at @publicrecordsnyc, featuring the multi-talented force that is @s.o.n.s_ as he makes his US debut with us.

Tim, a.k.a. S.O.N.S, is a prolific producer pushing the vinyl format through his adventurous DJ sets, his record labels, and his record shop in Seoul, South Korea, @junctionseoul. Having settled in the city more than 10 years ago, he has played a significant role in the local electronic music community’s development and is currently a resident DJ at the renowned club Ring, located in the heart of the Itaewon District. While he has many labels, Junction Forest and Hard Beach Entertainment are among our favorites in recent years.

With several well-received records under different aliases (DJ Jacuzziy, Prophecy 47) and collaborations (Forest Witches, Giorgio Celeste & The Cobra), mostly self-released on his own labels, Tim divides his time between creating music in the studio, caring for customers in the store, and compulsively digging for new, unearthed music.

He has a keen ear for sounds we appreciate, and we couldn’t be more excited to host him.As usual, @t_shockley will be on opening duties.Tickets get you access to the entire venue. 🎟️🔗 in bio🌱

Subsurface and Biome are teaming up for a Sunday afternoon open air on the back deck of @lachinescaphl in Philadelphia on July 17th, 2022. Our good friend, Brother Dan, founder of Miami-based record label, @terrestrialfunk , will be making his Philadelphia debut alongside Taylor Shockley (@t_shockley ) and Keen (@_____keen ) for this momentous occasion. In light of the recent overturning of Roe V Wade, we will be donating a portion of the proceeds from this event to the Abortion Liberation Fund of PA, as we at Biome and Subsurface believe that bodily autonomy is a fundamental right.

We are pleased to invite you to our first event on Saturday, May 14th, featuring DJs Jane Fitz and Taylor Shockley at an undisclosed warehouse location in north Philadelphia on a Danley Sound Labs system. It’s been nearly 5 years since Jane’s last visit to the area (thanks to the Rizumu crew), so we are beyond ecstatic to have her return this spring to share some music with us.

Primed through 25+ years of experience, Jane wields her vast collection of records old and new alike with surgical programming and impeccable technique, conjuring an immersive psychedelic experience each time. Aside from being a stellar DJ, Jane is a co-founder of the legendary party, "Night Moves", in the UK, which recently celebrated their 10th anniversary this year. She is also 1/2 of the production duo, "Invisible Menders", who recently released an EP on Carl H's imprint, "Animals On Psychedelics" at the end of 2021. We can’t think of a better first guest to help get this ball rolling.

On warmup, we have Biome’s founder, Taylor Shockley. Taylor relocated to Philadelphia less than a couple years ago, so he is relatively new to the city. With over a decade of considerable experience playing and managing events, he is finally stepping into himself. Over the years, he has been featured on bills with the likes of Evan Baggs, DJ Masda, Vera, Nicolas Lutz, tINI, Petar Dundov, + more.

We are pleased to invite you to our first event on Saturday, May 14th, featuring DJs Jane Fitz and Taylor Shockley at an undisclosed warehouse location in north Philadelphia on a Danley Sound Labs system. It’s been nearly 5 years since Jane’s last visit to the area (thanks to the Rizumu crew), so we are beyond ecstatic to have her return this spring to share some music with us.

Primed through 25+ years of experience, Jane wields her vast collection of records old and new alike with surgical programming and impeccable technique, conjuring an immersive psychedelic experience each time. Aside from being a stellar DJ, Jane is a co-founder of the legendary party, "Night Moves", in the UK, which recently celebrated their 10th anniversary this year. She is also 1/2 of the production duo, "Invisible Menders", who recently released an EP on Carl H's imprint, "Animals On Psychedelics" at the end of 2021. We can’t think of a better first guest to help get this ball rolling.
