Meet Chef Nigel Jones 🇯🇲, the creative force behind Kingston 11 Cuisine and @calabasheats in Oakland. He is one of the original board members of Community Kitchens.

Chef Nigel's culinary journey began in Jamaica, where his grandmother's kitchen nurtured his passion for cooking. Her words, “Don’t complain about my cooking, if you want to complain, you better learn how to cook yourself” became his guiding principle at the age of 10.

From Jamaica to the Bronx and finally settling in Oakland, Nigel's restaurant, Kingston 11, was more than a culinary hotspot. It is now where Community Kitchens prepare meals for our street meal program, a testament to Nigel's commitment to serving his community through food.

At the upcoming Reggae & Cassoulet event, Nigel shines as a featured chef, bringing his rich Jamaican heritage and diverse culinary experiences to the table.
