Tom Watanabe, my Grandpa Tom, my namesake died before I was born. Before my cousin @look_kimi or I ever got the chance to meet him. We heard stories of the radiology office he owned and practiced out of in Little Tokyo. And how it would always have a perfect view of the @niseiweek parade.
Last week, my cousin Kimi was in that parade which passed right by what used to be his office windows.
This video I put together shows footage he shot of the Nisei Week parade around 1960 as well as footage I shot of the parade this year. The link to the full video is in my bio✨

The score for CANDID is out today!
Writing for Thomas’ beautiful and thought-provoking film was a joy, restorative even. Every part of this film has intention baked into it and I’m giddy to have been a part of it.

Meet Thomas Winter, leading the charge as Nikola Tesla in FLASHES OF LIGHT 💡
Thomas is an actor/writer based in LA. He is honored to be making his Sierra Madre Playhouse debut in this show! Thomas made his professional debut as Melchior Gabor in SPRING AWAKENING at East West Players. Since then, he has done a number of voice acting gigs and developed his own work. Most recently, Thomas wrote and starred in A HAPA HOLIDAY, a solo show developed by East West Players and sponsored by Amy Hill.
