“Say what you want as long as it doesn’t upset stakeholders.”

72% of cultural workers interviewed by @queercircle say free speech is being applied inconsistently within their organisations. The new report, Let’s Create Change: Artistic Freedom in a Time of Genocide and Rising Fascism, reveals widespread censorship and weaponisation of funding.

Released amid escalating global conflict, Let’s Create Change draws on testimony from professionals across England’s visual arts sector, following two years of consultation with cultural workers and institutions.

Written by #JulietJacques, the report outlines a comprehensive timeline of recent controversies and the shifting legislative ground that has worsened the situation for artistic freedom in the UK – a freedom that has become increasingly conditional on trustees’ sensibilities and a growing culture of fear around reputational damage.

Let’s Create Change offers a rallying cry for the sector to reverse the attacks on freedom of expression. Read the full report via @queercircle.

Tomorrow! @museumofthehome 'Retrofit Works: Creating Healthy Buildings for Quality of Life’ is an all-day expert forum on interdisciplinary design and adaptive strategies advancing retrofit to enhance social value and resilience.

Taking place from 10am–7.30pm on Thursday 21 May, this inaugural event launches a new programme dedicated to the Museum’s vision of a just transition in the face of the climate emergency.

Discussions will explore how retrofitting delivery can be speeded up while simultaneously improving outcomes, and foster a rounded awareness of retrofit as a resilient, ‘whole systems’ approach – one that builds authentic neighbourhood character and supports a sense of place and belonging

Participating speakers include @jenniferodonnellbrown of @odonnellbrown_ who will explore how we can make more of what we have, looking at intelligent and socially responsible adaptive reuse through ‘second cycle’ buildings and neighbourhoods.

Tickets available via @museumofthehome.

Across the UK, the story is often the same: town halls closing, youth clubs shuttering, and vital community hubs fading away. But on the Scottish island of Great Cumbrae, @millporttownhall is writing a different ending.

After a painful closure in 2016, the local community rallied around a crowdfunder to take ownership and commission architects @odonnellbrown_ to restore its role as the beating heart of the island.

Key to the transformation is a small extension containing three holiday rental apartments, creating an essential economic lifeline to future-proof the building. By keeping tourism income directly in the community, rather than being siphoned off by Airbnb and distant landlords, this model provides a roadmap for at-risk communities, heritage and social infrastructure across the UK.

Congratulations to @flowersfromthefarm! Today @the_rhs Chelsea Flower Show, its installation won a Silver-Gilt Medal! Occupying a 20 x 15ft plot in the Grand Pavilion, the miniature flower farm is a living showcase of the diverse crops British flower farmers can grow in May.

Adding to the celebrations, Flowers from the Farm has successfully secured an official Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code, marking a landmark moment for the UK flower industry. Previously invisible in broader agricultural statistics, the £30 million-a-year British flower farming sector – where 8 out of 10 FftF members are women – is now formally recognised by policymakers.

New hire! Zetteler is a small agency by design, so it’s always a major moment when someone new joins the fold. Say hello to our new account director, the comms and strategy specialist @frankiefrancesca.

Frankie’s story so far takes her from communications in the culture and hospitality sector, where she ran her own agency, through Soho House, and into the National Gallery, where she took charge of developing the membership engagement strategy. A diverse curiosity-driven career to be sure – and one that makes her ideally placed to take the helm for our evolving roster of cultural clients.

Architects are rediscovering the value of building homes from the very ground on which they stand – and as the industry reckons with its environmental footprint, what once seemed niche is starting to look like the future.

That's according to @framemagazine, who take a look @tuckeydesignstudio's Rammed Earth House. Jonathan Tuckey explained how: 'At its simplest, rammed earth is a compacted mixture of materials such as clay, sand and gravel forming solid walls, resulting in highly durable, energy-efficient structures. Despite its obvious benefits, however, this technique fell out of favour in the 20th century, with the rise of rapid, large-scale housing developments.'

Wonderfully written by @riyawriter.

Have you been to @tippingpointeast? It is a remarkable new material reuse facility and centre of ecological architectural design and research in east London. 95% of the materials used in the main office, designed by @material_cultures, are recycled from other construction projects. Here's a rundown of the photos:

Pic 1. Window and door frames made with water wood from the Bridgerton sets.

Pic 2. A meeting room window made using the round glass from an old table top.

Pic 3. Elton John's old kitchen! (A small part of it at least) has been remade as the office coffee point.

Pic 4. @sumsais speaking about the work of Material Cultures in front of a huge wall of biomaterial samples (construction materials that have come from plants, not mining or drilling).

Pic 5. Structural columns made from discard Cross Laminated Timber. I have never seen small pieces of CLT used like this. Very smart.

Pic 6. @resolvecollective have also established the @_materialstore_ here taking waste materials from cultural institutions like bits of exhibition and finding new uses for them in the community. Here are fragments of a @rosa_johan show waiting for a new life.

Pic 7. And outside @yesmakeldn have a massive yard where they are processing high quality second hand construction materials. The pic shows an enormous piece of sequoia which is gradually being turned into new boards.

The team behind @flowersfromthefarm are hard at work. From 19–23 May, they are set to launch the first-ever working flower farm at the prestigious @the_rhs Chelsea Flower Show – the first group to do so in its century-long history.

And from 15–21 June 2026, @british.flowers.week will return, coinciding with the @unitednations’ International Year of the Woman Farmer. Following the theme ‘Flowers for the future’, this year’s festival programme offers the public hands-on opportunities to explore and discover the plantlife that the UK has to offer.

Through these collaborative efforts, the public appetite for local blooms has reached a new peak. Now that’s good news.

The only UK firm to have won the @RIBA ‘triple crown’ – the Stirling Prize, House of the Year (aka the Manser Medal – twice!), and the Stephen Lawrence Prize – Alison Brooks Architects is one of the most influential practices working today.

Led by Canadian-British architect Alison Brooks, the studio has earned international acclaim for high-profile commissions across the globe, with current academic, residential and projects underway in Taiwan, the Middle East, Canada and the UK. Notably, Accordia in Cambridge demonstrated the practice’s outstanding housing capabilities; the Quarterhouse in Folkestone has become a creative centrepiece for the southeast; and the Cohen Quad at Exeter College, Oxford, redefined collegiate architecture for the 21st century.

Celebrating 30 years of practice in 2026, the studio continues to demonstrate its belief that architecture serves as the bridge between memory and the future. Cadence, a landmark housing project and jewel in the crown of the King's Cross masterplan, completes later this year, with plenty more to follow in the UK and around the world.

As the studio approaches its 30-year milestone, Zetteler is proud to be working with Alison and her team as they continue to share their generous and forward-looking architectural vision with the world.

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
