After is a Y2K-inspired pop-rock band formed by Justine Dorsey and Graham Epstein. A year after meeting, the two learned they both had a lot in common: their love for music, their yearning for the early 2000s, and even their astrological chart. “Graham and I are similar because we were born on the same day,” Justine says. “But we’re also different.”

Growing up, Graham’s dad exposed him to many genres, including experimental music. Justine favored mainstream pop. Reinventing their distinct taste is what brought them together. “We were just sharing music and being obsessed with catchy songs from our childhood,” Graham recalls. “I was like, ‘No one actually sounds like that anymore — we should start a Y2K pop rock band.’”

@aftertheband, the LA-based trip-hop/pop project of Graham Epstein and Justine Dorsey, is bringing a utopian vision of the early 2000s into the present, marrying Y2K aesthetics with downtempo beats, hazy electronics, and hypnotic vocals. After’s Audiotree Live performance is flush with textural gems that linger on the more optimistic side of Y2K dreaming without kitschiness or feeling outdated.

Playing songs from their latest release, ‘After EP 2’ as well as their single “300 dreams”, After channels the magic of early 00’s pop icons like @portisheadofficial and @michellebranch, lubricating your brain with bright mall-pop chords and shadowy trip-hop flourishes. After is a band you always knew you needed because you once heard it in a dream.
