Afton Pub and Pizza is located in Concord, NC. It’s been on my list to try for awhile but a few weeks ago I decided I needed to get there asap. When local, small businesses were forced to close due to water contamination, I came across a Facebook post by Afton Pub encouraging people to support these businesses that had to close. They also hold an annual fundraiser in which they match the funds to provide meals to those in need. I knew I needed to show them some love!

My brother and I went recently for lunch. They have an awesome lunch special- a slice of pizza and a salad for $9! It was the perfect amount and super tasty! And the service was great. I would definitely go back!

P.S. if you couldn’t tell, it’s a Buffalo bar for all you Bills fans!

As always, we do ensure our food is cooked to proper temperatures to kill possible contaminants present in different food sources, store food according to the health department storage guides, eliminate cross-contamination issues in practice and preparation, coach our team on proper handwashing, and have additional filters on our water coming in to the building. All that being said, we're grateful that Concord City water has not been impacted.

The contact at CHA said that she expects the boil advisory to be lifted within 24 hours after further testing so we're sending good vibes to our neighbors that it was a one-off and not a serious outbreak 🫶🏻
