dear kin and folk, may this news lift and lighten your spirits. i am really excited to share with you all the cover for my SOPHOMORE ALBUM, the color of rain. ☔️

Rain nourishes, blesses, and renews. It loves everything it touches. This album is the space between droplets. At the crux of rising fascism, i offer a waking-dream intervention, amid the sinister reality of contemporary events. A prompt to look up at the sky within., the color of rain.

This is an evolution from the intimate, live-café energy of my debut album, when the poems do what they do. While i nod at the Black Arts Movement’s legacy and lineage, this album is a conjure to experiment and explore the interior, to listen, and develop new sounds. ✨🎶🎤

it is a deep honor to have worked closely with @officialmeshell and my heart @drumbrownie on producing this collection of poems and song as an offering and a reflection.

In true community organizing fashion, i was privileged to bring artists together, recruiting meaningful musical contributions from @boombishop , @joshuaajohn , @mindlessinertia , @jermainepaul_ , @ambroseire, @coryhenry and @nicosegal . With features by @georgia.muldrow, @ganavya , @novenacarmel @harpista, @mereba, @mickjenkins, and @vicmensa .

For the devoted lovers of poetry, there are breadcrumbs of metaphor and meaning embedded within and throughout my musical choices. A call to testify, imagine, and transmute, the color of rain is the hue of daring introspection. A rinse. This album is my refusal of convention and apathy. I encourage the listener not just to hear, but to drift, to wander, to go inward—to feel. Be the poem we need right now.

The first official single, “elsewhere” is available on all streaming platforms with an incredible visual film directed by @jesseboykins3rdI encourage you to bare withness…

“elsewhere” feat. @georgia.muldrow @officialmeshell new saaaangle & visual film coming out on 3/25/26! You can watch LINK in bio ✨✨✨

“elsewhere” is a poet-funk nod to the late great Sly Stone. We made this song in the studio together just three days after his crossing over. I told Meshell I wanted to do a song in honor of him. I wrote the poem the morning of the session and we started working on the song.Felt like he was in the room with us. Everything came together in divine being. I already reached out to @novenacarmel and Georgia Anne Muldrow but they both responded the same day and joined us in creating this fusion heart speak. It brings me so much joy knowing we all on this together. So many people I love💕🌌

This song has an all star ensemble of musicians:
@drumbrownie -drums
@joshuaajohn - wurlitzer
@mindlessinertia - keyboard
@jermainepaul_ - electric bass
@coryhenry - piano
@ambroseire - trumpet

Engineered by @davewmix @concrete.sound

“hollyweird” is out now 🔥 gooo listen! 👂🏾
(video & song link in bio)

Thank you, @everything_political

i wrote “hollyweird,” on scraps of found paper, frantically jotting down observations and sentiments of the Los Angeles fires in 2025 and its aftermath. The song is an Afropunkesque ode to frustrations around our current culture of social isolation and performative solidarity. I wanted to speak to the emptiness of “hollyweird” not as a place but as a way of being where insincerity is normalized. Where social interactions become void of authenticity and we lose sight of community and connection. Thank you to the collective who all contributed to this track and video. Each of you inspire me.

the new record has arrived! ✨🌌🎶

yesterday after one of the longest days ever, i came home to boxes of my new vinyl record. i was so exhausted but super grateful. there’s nothing like the feeling of holding your record in your hands for the first time and then playing it on a record player…with the ones you love. 💕 i put so much thought and care into this record as with the first one and i was really intentional about not compromising the design but still tryin to keep it more affordable.

have you preordered your copy of “the color of rain” yet? im so excited to finally have my first copies in my hands and i can’t wait to share this record with you all.

thanks to everyone whose been getting their tickets to “the elsewhere” tour. i can’t wait to see yall very soon. God willin. first date of the tour is May 20th in my hometown New York City at Carnegie Hall, yall will be able to get records there in person before it’s officially out on May 22nd! See you then 🙏🏾

happy last day of poetry month & happy international jazz day! ✨📝🎶

yall a new poem-song-art piece called “melting clocks” featuring @mickjenkins & @vicmensais AVAILABLE ON ALL STREAMING PLATFORMS NOW! 🕰️🔥
go listen 🎧🎶 let us know how you feel

so grateful to have two brothers and incredible wordsmiths featured on this record

On “melting clocks,” i straddle the world between that which makes sense and that of which our senses are tested. We don’t have to look far for the shattered ground that is paved of the illogical and magical. The track, which nods to Dali only in name, boasts a tempo that darts, transports, and moves as if time itself were being questioned. This work makes us wonder about what we know to be true and stirs us to lean into the mystical unknown. The song extends with clever lyrical offerings from @mickjenkins , @vicmensa , and @joshlanemusic .

Produced by @officialmeshell ,me, and @drumbrownie
Additional production by @concrete.sound @nicosegal

aja monet - poem and vocals
@mickjenkins - lyrics and vocals
@vicmensa - lyrics and vocals
@joshlanemusic - additional vocals
@joshuaajohn - saxophone
@drumbrownie - drums and percussion
@mindlessinertia - keyboards
@jermainepaul_ - electric bass

Being back in Florida always brings up so many emotions for me…It’s really hard to witness all the shifts and changes, the places i remember but don’t remember me. The pace of change. The seeds we planted and i had to watch grow from afar or not grow at all. The memories that don’t feel like memories even but portals to some other dimension. Did it ever happen? All those amazing things we did? To see the traces of the love you poured into people, into community, to be named or not, to be felt. By your comrades. To feel the traces… of people, places, or relationships no more. Waves.

Did we ever stand a fighting chance? Maybe a loving one. I don’t know…

The spiritual resonance of Miami remains. I strolled by what used to be ol Wood Tavern to reminisce, almost broke down after seeing a graffiti image of what could’ve easily been a portrait of my late dog Melo over yet another new development.It actually made me chuckle. That would be a sign to me. Wynwood is a shell of what it once was… Other reminders of spirit. There’s so many things i can say but I’ll leave that for another time…

I’m so grateful for the work we’ve done and continue to do in spite of it all. To still be committed.

This past weekend it was an honor to be in attendance as a board member for @cjpmiami 10 year anniversary and to celebrate @alanagreer. She is a true hero. i ran into so many folks i havent seen in a long time. And then to be invited again by @dariusdaughtryfor @artprevailsproject festival which wasa magical expression of words and poetry and one another. Incredible work. I hope to continue to be of service.

“elsewhere” is not about escapism but rather a refusal of alienation and apathy.some folk i know share about their vision of “elsewhere”

thank you to one of our great contemporary surrealist poets, Will Alexander.

Letting go of your former self can be harder than letting go of other people or positions, but sometimes we have grown so much we need to shed our old skin and step into the next chapter.

Thank you @ajamonet for guiding us in this moment of self-reflection.

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
