I’m elated to announce the May pick for the Bi Babes Book Club with @allstora is “Hungerstone” by Kat Dunn (@katalicedunn). Quite simply, Hungerstone is among the finest novels I have ever encountered. It is an absolute masterclass in storytelling, from its razor-sharp prose and perfect pacing to its compelling plot, the protagonist’s evolution, and the way it delves into macabre themes and the horrifying beauty of embracing one’s deepest desires.

This lush, atmospheric gothic novel is a retelling of the classic vampire tale Carmilla, following a repressed Victorian woman, Lady Lenore, whose carefully contained (i.e., repressed) world begins to crack open when Carmilla arrives in her home and dares Lenore to question her reality—dares her to want.

It is a deeply sapphic/bisexual tale absolutely dripping with desire, and I could not think of a more perfect read for Bi Babes. If you love gothic romance, queer awakening stories, and a heroine who is finally, gloriously, learning to embrace her own hungers, you will become in Kat’s words, “undone” reading Hungerstone.

Here’s the February BOTM for our #thecozychapterbookclub
I wanted to pick something comforting for February when it’s still cold & gloomy, and our days are spent waiting for Spring to arrive. Plus I feel it’s a very hopeful book.

I initially listened to it on audio and now I am looking forward to rereading it and annotating it as I go. And maybe try out some of the food too 😋

The February pick for my romantasy book club is… BRIDE by @alihazelwood!!!

This book is DELICIOUS. It’s a vampire-werewolf romance, set in a contemporary, alternate version of our world where the species are divided into enemy territories. Arranged marriage between enemies is one of my favorite tropes, and this book has it in spades. I loved every page.

Oh, and if you don’t yet know what knotting is… you’re about to. 🤪
