AG FILM PHOTOGRAPHY MEET-UP! April 28th 6-9 PM @ the Alternative Gallery.
The AG Film Photography Meet-up is for photographers who shoot film as well as those interested in getting into it! Bring your gear to show off and talk shop with other photographers! Don’t have a camera? You can either borrow one from the gallery’s collection or shop at the merch table stocked with film & cameras!
In addition to the meet-up you’ll have the option to walk around the various floors of the Alternative Gallery to take photos. Stop by the various photography studios of the artists in the building to checkout their setups!
This is a laid back FREE event that’s open to all!

Come learn how to design and create your own journal. In this workshop, you will learn how to hand-bind a book using a combination of Tab and Coptic styles of binding. As well as designing and attaching a hard cover. At the end of the workshop, you will walk away with a 30-page hardcover book of your own design, that can be use as a sketchbook, journal, memory keeper, or as a gift.

FUEGO is a political art show that stands up against fascism in the most powerful way, through art.
The event will be held on Tuesday May 5th 6-9 PM at the Alternative Gallery, and features an art exhibition of political paintings from local artists, poetry readings and live music by a Mariachi.
Though the exhibit is held on Cinco de Mayo, this is not about “Sombreros and Margaritas.” It’s about us reclaiming our right to exist. The event is an opportunity to build a community from the very ground that the oligarchs are trying to destroy. It’s about the current events that are happening right now in the Country and how history will remember it. Art is resistance and we will celebrate Mexican, Latin, immigrant and multicultural roots without fear.
If they are trying to bury us we are the seeds. If they are trying to freeze us with ICE, we are the FUEGO.
