Data centers are a new reality of life as technology develops rapidly and society becomes increasingly reliant upon AI.
Most data center cooling systems rely on public drinking water sources. In areas where water is already scarce, data center water demand places additional pressure on limited water supplies, especially in hot climates and during periods of high demand.
Rivers are ultimately both the source waters and the receiving waters of the impacts of data centers. They are living ecosystems that can be stressed by this rapid and new growth, even as other pressures on them mount.
As our nation navigates forward, we must balance the impacts on precious water resources with technological advances.

There are few landscapes that safeguard our rivers’ headwaters like a healthy meadow. 🌾 Healthy meadows benefit people, wildlife, and rivers by acting as natural reservoirs that give rain, snow, and runoff the chance to slow down, spread out, and sink into the soil, filtering and storing water.
Our new short film “Restoring Mountain Meadows” dives into our work to restore California’s iconic Faith Valley and Ackerson Meadows! We’ll take you uphill into the Sierra Nevada and deep into the restoration work that is healing one of the most biodiverse regions on Earth.

For decades, the Rogue River has been the gold standard for wild, scenic beauty. But for the first time, it’s been named one of America’s Most Endangered Rivers by @americanrivers.
The threat? A potential rollback of the Roadless Rule, which could open the door to harmful logging, mining, and road building in the headwaters that keep this river alive.
Dustin Abbott, OARS Oregon Operations Manager, was surprised to see the Rogue on the list, and he’s not alone.
“Seeing it flagged this way feels like a real wake-up call—proof that even our most cherished and carefully managed places aren’t immune to increasing pressures,” says Dustin. “It underscores how important it is to stay engaged in protecting all the rivers we enjoy, so future generations can experience it the same way we do today.”

🚧 This Low Head Dam Safety Awareness Month, we're calling attention to the dangers of these “drowning machines.”
Low head dams should be avoided at all costs by river recreators, no matter what the river level is. They create a recirculating washing machine-like feature at the base of the dam that does not allow people to swim out of it.
Across the country at least 780 fatalities have occurred at low head dams.
🛶 Learn how to stay safe out on the river this spring at the link in our bio!
We don’t need dams – we need nature. Keep the Nissequogue River free-flowing with @americanrivers and their partners. Sign the #MostEndangeredRivers petition in the 🔗in my b!0 to take action.

Following the tragic Guadalupe flood, a coalition of landowners, volunteers, and organizations launched a bold effort to restore their cherished river. “Hope for the Guadalupe” bears witness to the heartbreaking disaster and showcases the conservationists working to replant native trees, spread grasses and forbs, and bring peace and beauty to a beleaguered river.
We will be hosting benefit screenings with Q&As in Austin (5/12), Kerrville (5/14), San Antonio 5/15), Dallas (5/19), and Houston (5/21), with a live performance from @briscoetheband at our Kerrville screening. Proceeds from the screening will benefit river restoration efforts. Additional community screenings will be announced soon, followed by a digital and broadcast release in June. Tickets are available through the link in our bio 🎟️
This inspiring film was made in partnership with @cftexashillcountry @hillcountryalliance @sabgtx @kerrcountyriverfoundation @texaswaterfoundation @americanrivers @hunt_preservation_society @texasparksandwildlifefoundation @finandfurfilms @ugratx
Please join us for these special nights of remembrance and hope. If you’re unable to attend, please consider making a donation to river recovery efforts through the “Hope for the Guadalupe” fund that will support the Hill Country Alliance, San Antonio Botanical Gardens, the Kerr County River Foundation, and the Hunt Preservation Society. On behalf of the film team and partnering organizations, we’d like to extend our deepest condolences to the families who lost loved ones.
The San Joaquin is a river in need of a resurrection, not the digging of a deeper grave.
And, while plenty of people are working tirelessly to bring life back to the river, their efforts and the delicate pulse of this struggling waterway are threatened by a proposed 600-foot deep blast mine a stone’s throw from her banks.
The Fresno County Board of Supervisors has the power to stop the mine, and we can let them know that we’re watching, that we notice their actions, that we’re here to give voice to the river, that we will stay by her side.
Head to the link in my bio to speak up for a river who has the power to rise again, if only we lend her a hand.
Thank you @americanrivers for bringing attention to the San Joaquin River by naming her one of the top 10 Most Endangered Rivers this year, and thank you @riverparkwaytrust for refusing to give up on this river when so many already had.

How do we get from dry, degraded, and dewatered to lush, wet meadows that feed our precious rivers and support fish and wildlife? We have to get creative.
Our restoration work with partners in Ackerson Meadow and Faith Valley Meadow show two very distinct approaches to achieving amazing results.

The Suwannee River is famous for its springs, which ensure a consistent flow of clear, clean water. The river’s flow nurtures fish and wildlife and provides world-class recreation opportunities. But pollution and excessive water withdrawals are contaminating the river and causing vital springs to dry up. The Florida legislature and the state’s Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) must allocate funds to protect the springs and enforce pollution limits. #suwanneeriver #americanrivers #florida #floridarivers #floridaenvironment
The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
