THE CAPULET CRYPT - ROMEO + JULIET

Performed @lipadance by 3rd year dancers in 2019.

The penultimate scene where Romeo find Juliet’s body in the Capulet crypt. This adaptation featured Shakespeare as the storyteller. References to the ‘Fair Youth’ from some of Shakespeare’s sonnets were portrayed by his intimate relationship with Romeo.

SCENE 7 - HAVFRUE

Performed by 3rd year dancers @lipadance in 2018.

This production was inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s ‘The Little Mermaid’, originally Den lille havfrue.

‘The little mermaid swam out farther from the shore and placed herself between some high rocks that rose out of the water… and watched to see what would become of the poor prince. She did not wait long before she saw a young girl approach the spot where he lay. She seemed frightened at first, but only for a moment… and the mermaid saw that the prince came to life again… But to her he sent no smile; he knew not that she had saved him.’
