22 years of loving you… Aidiye 💕 Happy Birthday

Watching you grow into the strong, kind, loving and smart woman you are today has been the greatest joy of our lives. From holding your tiny hands to cheering you on from afar now.

We miss you always, but knowing you’re out there chasing your dreams, building your own world, and becoming you makes us so so proud.

22 looks so good on you Aidiye, just like everything else you do. Keep shining, keep laughing, keep being that warm, loving light wherever you go.

Today we lost a true legend. @realmrvalentino was not only one of the greatest designer, who brought so much beauty and elegance to the fashion world. He was kind, graceful and always respectful.

I had the profound honor of walking in many of his fashion shows in the 90's, moments that shaped me deeply as a young model.

The highlight of my career will forever remain the finale 'Peace Dress'. Standing there, at the height of my career, wearing a gown that had such a strong message, that spoke of elegance, hope, and humanity, was a once-in-a-lifetime moment. Thank you for the honor.

Yesterday, February 6 was International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation FGM — we gathered for the screening of 'Do You Remember Me' — the powerful film about Sara Aduse’s story of courage, truth, and relentless advocacy.

Even though FGM is illegal in many countries, including Ethiopia, it is still practiced and globally, over 200 million girls and women are victims.

@sara_aduse chose bravery over silence. She has made it her mission to raise awareness, demand accountability, and search for solutions so that the next generation of girls can live free from harm.

This film is emotionally raw and graphic — because the truth is. Thank you, @sara_aduse for your courage and for refusing to let this continue in the shadows.

It was so lovely meeting, in person for the first time, the beautiful and inspiring Hasset Dereje — Miss World Africa 2025 and Miss World First Runner-Up.

We spent time chatting about African Mosaique, the ongoing importance of promoting African fashion, and sustaining our rich traditions even after 25 years! I also shared how African Mosaique continues to use its platform to raise awareness and funds for causes close to my heart, including ECF Children’s Fund.

This will be Hasset Dereje's very first fashion show, and I know she will be absolutely incredible.
