Music by the one and only @anna_whitaker
Anna Whitaker is one of Australia’s most inventive composers. Blending cutting-edge production with classical voice and technique, Anna’s sounds for Faraway run the gamut from brutal techno, lush orchestrations and even a bit of ASMR. The work is sexy, strange, and absolutely thumping.
Here she tells us a bit about herself, her practice and how she’s bringing her incredible sonic mind to Jenni Large’s latest work.

Thanks for having me, what a dream of a day. Was delicious singing with the river and leading a vocal workshop with y’all ✨
𝘛𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘭//𝘛𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭
Tidal//Tonal is a live sound performance composed in collaboration with the Tweed River. Using submerged hydrophones, the work listens to the river’s murmurings, collisions, and quiet disturbances - an improvised duet between artist and water.
Following the performance, a vocal somatic workshop that invites participants to explore voice, breath, and body in resonance with the river’s shifting rhythms. Through sound and movement, the body becomes an instrument of listening and release.
The work invites a soft dissolution of boundaries between human and more-than-human, performer and environment. The river is not backdrop but co-performer, shaping the score in real time. Together, the performance and workshop open space for a slow, fluid encounter—one that attunes to the porous and interwoven nature of being.

Sharing work doesn’t get any less vulnerable, feeling very proud of all the ways we persisted, stretched, gambled and trusted to create this feisty little work. Anna and I have made 10 works together in the last 5 years (!!!) I cannot explain the depth and importance of this friendship and collaboration. Thank you for helping me to be braver and truer. It is a complete privilege to be LOCKED IN with you 💍🩸
~
Driven by the lure of vengeance, two performers whip, clack and screech in a tangle of sound, body and costume.
Open wide, slip the leash, strip down.
The body is a weapon, and revenge is a complicated game.

Unreal 😭😭😭
Won my first Green Room Award for Outstanding Sound Design in Dance in Naarm last night for ‘Fertile Ground’
Sad I couldn’t be there to accept the award, but so grateful for this recognition.
‘Fertile Ground’ was one of the first full length contemporary dance scores I ever made. I am still so proud of the work I did in this piece back in 2021, creating 90% of the sound from manipulated besser block recordings. 🧱
Big love and gratitude to the show’s creators @ashmusk and @smiike_ _ for all their incredible work, collaboration and support.
Congrats on a stunning performance in Naarm last year where the weather really turned up @ashmusk and @jenlarge
Thanks and big love to @dancehouse.melb for presenting the work and all their support
Thanks Naarm for the love 🧡🧡🧡

🚨 Help Us Save Barrambin / Victoria Park from Irreparable Destruction 🚨
We are halfway to our goal for fundraising legal fees to stop its demolition! Please donate if you can 🥺 link at end of post and in bio!
Victoria Park is our sanctuary – a place of solace, beauty, and rich cultural history. The area holds significant cultural importance for First Nations’ people and is home to sacred sites like the bunyip waterhole. This park is deeply woven into the fabric of our community🌿💔
At 64 hectares, Victoria Park is an incredible gift to us all. In the heart of Brisbane’s inner city, Barrambin is a rare treasure that so many cities can only dream of. We are so lucky to have it, and we must protect it for future generations.
But now, David Crisafulli and the Queensland Government are on the brink of destroying this precious land for a massive stadium for the 2032 Olympics, officially announcing their decision to do so last Monday. In doing so, they are breaking their Olympic contract by allowing construction in protected cultural and natural areas. The idea of losing this massive inner city greenspace to concrete and steel is not just devastating – it’s unthinkable.
We cannot allow this park to be sacrificed for a one-off event. This is not the legacy we want to leave behind. We need to preserve this land – a significant cultural and natural asset – for generations to come, not destroy it for short-term gain.
We need your help to take legal action and stop the destruction. We are already halfway there. Every dollar you contribute brings us one step closer to protecting this vital part of Brisbane’s soul. Please, donate today and stand with us in the fight to save Victoria Park. 💚✨

Together, we will protect what is irreplaceable. This park belongs to all of us. Let’s fight to keep it that way.

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
