“‘Private Viewing’ was conceived from my year-long fascination with the surrealist ball-jointed doll worlds of Ryo Yoshida and Simon Yotsuya. I immersed myself in the uncanny intimacy of their creations. Doll forms that seem to breathe with lives of their own, shaped by the devotion, imagination, and tenderness of their makers. 🎀
In parallel, I am constantly inspired by trans women and the way they transcend femininity through grace, glamour, and defiant softness. There is a common thread between the dolls and trans women; both literally and figuratively.”
