Nana
It’s been two weeks but I haven’t known what to say…still don’t…Nana was my babysitter from birth. I remember being carried into her house, still asleep, so my single mom could go to work.
Most of my childhood until I got my drivers license we did almost everything together. The majority of that time managing the 19 flower beds she had strewn across her yard and our adjoining yard, which was once their spare lot. My summers and after schools often consisted of weeding, raking, mulching, mowing, and cleaning the old above ground pool - subsisting on sweet tea and biscuits and gravy.
Garage sales were the other predominant activity. She would light up from a score of anything she deemed “very expensive,” which became a family catchphrase as those finds often failed to elicit the same excitement from the rest of us.
Her generous, kind heart and unwavering support will stick with me the rest of my life, as will the time I had recently to say goodbye. ❤️

Bryce Canyon, one of my new favorite places on earth.
