This editorial was inspired by the historic architecture at the James J. Hill reference library, now known as @avalonsaintpaul.

We channeled moody academia with a whisper of Wes Anderson, bringing in a maximalist marbled linen as a nod to the cover page of books found within the library.This design was a fun departure from my typical work and I hope you have as much fun enjoying it as we did creating it 🩵

Speaking of bold choices, nothing says maximalists have more fun like this editorial shoot designed by @archifete at the brand new @avalonsaintpaul venue. Floor to ceiling books provided the perfect backdrop for a deliciously over-the-top tablescape with lush, color blocked florals dancing down the center alongside cheeky plates, tortoise shell cutlery and most importantly a few lovers and those real belly laughs that only come when you’re working with the best team.

You know your annoying Aunt who sends the holiday card recapping every single thing their family did that year? Well, this is basically that. As a Midwestern woman, I should be downplaying my success and acting humble - but I had a f**king great year doing what I love and serving the people that I love even more. So, forgive me while I take a few moments (++ far too many hours spent on Canva making this dumb thing) to gloat.

16 weddings. 5 social events. 3 styled shoots. Features in Style Me Pretty, Anti-Bride and Minnesota Bride. Minnesota Bride “Best Event Design” winner. “Director of Event Design & Decor” for the ILEA Star Awards. 1 chance encounter with Justin Vernon (Bon Iver). 1 Armadillo (Fast Eddy) acquired.

I don’t know that 2025 can be topped, and frankly, that isn’t my goal. I worked my a$$ off laying the groundwork for my business, saying yes to almost everything and learning along the way.

I’m proud of myself. Proud of my team (Julia, Lexi, Molly, Krista, Brooke, Madison, Jacki, Taylor). Proud of the vendors I am lucky enough to call friends.

However, my biggest thanks and appreciation goes to my clients. Thank you for trusting me. Thank you for believing in me. And thank you for being top tier humans. It is such a joy to be present on one of the biggest days of your lives - crying during your first dances and vows and shimmying through the dancefloor with light up wands to Pink Pony Club (I’m sorry, that song never gets old. Can’t say the same for Mr. Brightside).
