Artengine
A space for arts, research and technology located in Ottawa, Canada

We're excited to act as producer for Canadian media artist Sylvia Grace Borda as she takes her latest work to the 61st Venice Biennale 2026 ( @labiennale )
Sylvia has been selected as one of 10 artists to exhibit at the Republic of Nauru Climate Pavilion @nauru_biennale_venezia (AIM Inundated: Imagining Life After Land), curated by Khaled Ramadan. Her exhibition responds to this year's Biennale theme, In Minor Keys.
Drawing from the intertidal shorelines of Nanaimo, BC (traditional unceded territory of the Snuneymuxw First Nation), Sylvia's works make the argument that Nanaimo and Nauru are not distant opposites but two shores of the same imperilled ocean.
Her Venice presentation includes: Blanketed by Oceans, wearable textile installations that collapse the distance between the North and South Pacific; Shoreline Debris, camera-less photograms of decaying algae and seagrass, charting what climate warming is already erasing; and Intertidal Cantos, immersive real-time films of clams, starfish, and sea anemones living at the tidal edge.
Pavilion dates: May 9 – November 22, 2026 📍 Calle Bosello 3683, Castello, Venice
And the journey doesn't end in Venice: Sylvia's work returns to ArtEngine for exhibition in Summer 2027, with a phased residency to deepen these themes.

🏰 Apt613 has found an apartment with the coolest roommates!
🖨️ For the first time ever, Apt613 will have an actual office space, and it’s already one of our highlights of the year. We'll be the organization in residence, with @artengineat @artscourt, and we’re incredibly grateful and excited for this opportunity!
📫This next chapter gives us space to be closer to artists and collaborators, and to root ourselves more deeply in the arts community we serve. It also opens up new ways of working together, from storytelling to shared programming.
📍Find us at Artengine!
April 2026 – March 2027
We can’t wait to see you there!

My interactive 8-bit art piece at the UPSTAIRS gallery show in November got a lot of interest and a lot of questions about how it was made.
Creating Gameboy-style games and art is more accessible than you might think - no coding required.
I’m hosting a creative get-together at Art Engine to share what I’ve learned using GB Studio, a free drag-and-drop tool for making interactive 8bit experiences.
📅 Jan 21, 6:30pm @ Art Engine
💻 Bring a laptop with GB Studio (download from itch.io)
✨ No experience necessary - we’ll cover the basics together

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
