At the beginning of May, Beth escaped to the beautiful Northumberland countryside for a stay at the incredible Rose & Thistle in Alwinton, a pub and accommodation owned by one of our wonderful clients, and it couldn’t have been a more perfect setting to stumble across art in the wild.
From wandering through Kielder Forest and discovering striking sculptures hidden along the forest routes, to returning to the warmth of the Rose & Thistle and seeing works by Magnus Gjoen and Prefab77 hanging so naturally within the space, the whole trip felt like a reminder of how powerful art can be outside of the traditional gallery setting.
There’s something really special about seeing contemporary artwork surrounded by rolling countryside, woodland walks, good food, cosy interiors, and roaring pub atmosphere. It gives the pieces a completely different life.

Built from fragments. Things noticed while walking, half formed thoughts, recurring characters that keep showing up without invitation.
This piece does not settle in one place on purpose. It shifts, overlaps and interrupts itself. Faces emerge, disappear and return again in different forms. There is no fixed narrative to hold onto, only movement and instinct.
The title came the same way. Not explained, just felt.

The @artofprotestgallery is an exceptional indie art gallery that made the perfect setting for tonight’s event. The artist behind @forme_printsuk brought his work to life with live screen printing, and even showcased a limited edition York Fashion Week print.
We had models on site to showcase his designs, which was perfectly complemented with exceptional makeup work by @esteepro_anthonyfrith and his talented team.
