✨Kasimyn je 1/2 Gabber Modus Operandi a pravá ruka (na albume Fossora). Jeho hudba je zakorenená vo vízii oslobodenia: hudobného, politického aj duchovného.

Kasimyn pochádza zo severnej Jakarty. Jeho sólová aj kolaboratívna tvorba prechádza kaleidoskopickým spektrom vplyvov – od indonézskych tranzových rituálov jathilan cez gamelan a experimentálnu hudbu až po súčasný klubový zvuk. Namiesto plochého samplovania svojho hudobného dedičstva skladby priamo stavia na tradičných stupniciach. Výsledkom je originálny hypnotický efekt zvukového bezčasia, ktorý búra hranice a spája extaticky vysoké BPM s indonézskymi tradíciami, ako dangdut koplo či funkot.

Kasimynova práca zahŕňa aj výskum harmonických stupníc juhovýchodnej Ázie – pelog a slendro, ktoré mieša s klubovou dynamikou. Spojivom jeho práce je distortion. V projekte Hulubalang ho využíva ako emočný skalpel na pitvu holandského koloniálneho násilia v Indonézii. Na albume BUNYI BUNYI TUMBAL cez archívnu prácu a cez objektív anonymných periférnych postáv histórie konštruuje osobný akt katarzie prameniaci z dlhej línie medzigeneračného hnevu. “BUNYI je poctou dedine, ktorej rituálny tanec bol jednej noci narušený vonkajšími silami, čo spôsobilo roztrieštenie melódie a zanechalo ju uviaznutú v priestore medzi nevinnosťou a bolesťou.”

two years ago, I wandered into christmas mass in my hometown. the church was already full, so I naturally decided to go to the choir loft, to the organ, and there I discovered that the organist in the church was my former high school classmate. the newly renovated organ and the church full of singing people absorbed me with their sound. after mass, I asked Jozef if he would give me a crash course on the organ, its possibilities and limitations. he was willing, and after his lecture, intoxicated by the sound, I wrote miniature structures and chords that I would enjoy listening to in the church where I was baptized and had my first communion. between the long chords, jozef kept playing parts of the mass or compositions he was practicing. the kyrie from the catholic hymnal still moves me, and I knew it had to be on the album. during two visits, we created ‘clouds’ on which Jozef played the organ and I operated the registers.

the second part of the album ‘pulses’ was recorded in Kraskovo in a church dating back to the second half of the 14th century. this organ requires a second person to mechanically pump the bellows so that air can reach the pipes. my long-time friend Marcel assisted me with this. these are improvisations that are conditioned and shaped by the rhythmic creaking and breathing of the bellows.

two years ago, I wandered into christmas mass in my hometown. the church was already full, so I naturally decided to go to the choir loft, to the organ, and there I discovered that the organist in the church was my former high school classmate. the newly renovated organ and the church full of singing people absorbed me with their sound. after mass, I asked Jozef if he would give me a crash course on the organ, its possibilities and limitations. he was willing, and after his lecture, intoxicated by the sound, I wrote miniature structures and chords that I would enjoy listening to in the church where I was baptized and had my first communion. between the long chords, jozef kept playing parts of the mass or compositions he was practicing. the kyrie from the catholic hymnal still moves me, and I knew it had to be on the album. during two visits, we created ‘clouds’ on which Jozef played the organ and I operated the registers.

the second part of the album ‘pulses’ was recorded in Kraskovo in a church dating back to the second half of the 14th century. this organ requires a second person to mechanically pump the bellows so that air can reach the pipes. my long-time friend Marcel assisted me with this. these are improvisations that are conditioned and shaped by the rhythmic creaking and breathing of the bellows.
