Had a blast helping out on the @daxleesbarbershop Chili Cook Off video! I haven’t done Production Audio like that in a LONG time, and anytime I get to put in a bunch of goofy sfx in post is always a hoot!
Come feel the fire that Oakland has for that ass, on June 13th!

Substack #16: A Beginner’s Pottery Class at Gavilan Community College Every Monday Night (Dongle)
Hello. This is Substack #16. It’s a long boy, and I apologize. You’re probably better off reading it on their app through the link in the bio, but maybe not because they don’t have a dark mode and apparently hate retinas. I just said that as if people are reading these.
There is also an audio-only version on the Substack page that John Rhys-Davies (“Gimli” from Lord of the Rings) recorded. Thanks again, John. See you in Valhalla, brother.
Ok. Have fun out there.

Last October I had the privilege of hosting a Hand Me Down Singles Session with @ben_goldberg_bag, @michaelprincecoleman, and @atwalhamir aka Invisible Guy.
I’ve been a fan of the various musical incarnations of these three for a long time. So getting host a session with them and watch their creative process unfold was really special. They played at least 8 or 9 great improvisations, I picked and mixed my favorite two, and now we’re happy to share them with you.
Give a listen and download for free at www.handmedownrecording.bandcamp.com!
Recorded, Mixed, Mastered, and Dad Cam by Adam Myatt at @handmedownrecording.

So stoked to share these BTS shots from the new @ampsintheroom video series now that the first full episode is out!
Our concept was simple: Two songs, one camera, one take per song... How hard could it actually be? Turns out *very* hard, but also super rewarding and inspiring! Through the exercise of making these, I keep coming back to the phrase “To err is human.” While the world continues down the road of increasing perfectionism across all media and entertainment, and we enter the age of surreal AI garbage… getting to make something so incredibly human feels very special. There’s of course moments where I wish I caught better focus or framing, or didn’t stomp on one of Scott’s room mics he just left LAYING ON THE FLOOR… and I know the band’s we’ve worked with have had their own issues with a funky note or bad drum hit here and there. But at the end of the day this feels like the most raw and honest version of a band performance we can get, and it’s such a privilege to get to do it with our quirky little crew of people.
Endlessly thankful to @gse for his incredible recording abilities and for trusting me to shoot this, @dondoblados for helping with lighting and camera prep, @_rach25 at @roastnpost_oakland for handling final color, and @ummm_r for mastering the mixes!
Of course biggest thanks goes to @pilemusic for being on the first episode, absolutely crushing both of their songs, being wonderful humans, and giving a great “angry cat” photo… while Scott *immediately* regrets having me on this project!
Check out “Born at Night” and “Special Snowflakes” at Amps In The Room Dot Com!

I’ve been making music and recording for a majority of my life now, but I think the only time I’ve ever played the role of “just a guy in the band” was back in high school in like, 2001? Every other project since then, I’ve basically worn the hats of writer, player, producer, and recording engineer… until this weekend!
I’ve know @gse for ::gulp:: over 16 years now, and since meeting him, I’ve always wanted to be in a band that was good enough to record with him. I’m not sure if I’ll ever *actually* be that, but he was gracious enough to let me, @loosetrucksandslappies, and @0mnis0und bring our @saddadsanonymous project into Antisleep Audio [his space that shares a live room with his studio-husband, Jack Shirley and @_the_atomic_garden_] for a couple of days of tracking. The space is incredible, even mid-construction project, and Scott knows just the right way to bust your balls while keeping things moving and sounding great.
He has been a huge inspiration, sounding board, supporter, and musical-dad to me in ways I can’t begin to explain, and I feel super lucky to get to call him a friend and collaborator.

All-Star Palentime’s Weekend in Savannah, GA: Played bingo in a Moose Lodge, saw some old dead stuff in my hotel/museum, heard some ghost stories in the rain, saw some more old stuff in a cemetery with some living-people I like, then everyone got Swarovski Crystal Shrek’s to mark the occasion.

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
