Had to visit one of my favourite Hipcamps. I’ve been camping for 40+ years (guess my age!). I’ve camped lots of ways—from pop-up tents, to one-man hiking tents, through to swags and now in my rooftop tent.

Hi! I’m Brooke. Camping has been part of my life since I was five, when my parents started taking me to our favourite riverside spot in Kangaroo Valley, NSW. We’d go a few times a year, and I fell in love with the freedom of it all. Being dirty, running wild, having space to dream and just be.

As a kid, I was proud of how thick and tough the soles of my feet were from never wearing shoes. These days I camp with family, friends, my partner — and often solo. I love cooking over the fire, riding mountain bikes, and getting the 4WD dusty. I’m starting to learn about hunting for food too — something that’s always interested me.

I’m lucky enough to work (if you can call it that) at @hipcamp, where I’ve spent the past decade helping build a global community of campers and the best camping app out there.

ASMR edition. Happy my adult kids still want to come camping with me! This is my oldest daughter @flowwithmadeleine. We had such a special camp at Yarrangobilly River Campground visiting the caves and spring-fed pool.
