Yesterday my friend and I hiked Mam Tor in Derbyshire .I would spend a lot of time in the Peak District as a child but had never hiked Mam Tor so was determined to see it .Mam Tor means “Mother Hill “. This area was first occupied in 1200 BC , and I saw remains of the villages . So incredibly historic . The views were breathtaking , I hiked all four peaks and finished the 8 mile circular walk . When I am next home I will return at sunset as I can only imagine how incredible it must be at that time . “ Dare to live the life you have always wanted “. I flew spontaneously to England shortly before Christmas and it’s been wonderful . Even though cities here are becoming unrecognizable, and the country is crippled with strikes ,my neighborhood in London and the area I grew up in thankfully has pockets that remain the same.I spent time with my childhood friend , time with cousins, parents , shot two gigs , documented an illegal fox hunt , attended mass at a beautiful Catholic Church close to where I grew up , and got to spend time visiting my favorite castles and my beloved Fountains Abbey , which Henry V111 famously burnt down.
