There’s been a lot of excitement around the new Sony FE 100-400mm F4.5 GM OSS, and as a travel and nature photographer and filmmaker, I’ve had the privilege of testing it extensively in the field over the past weeks. 📸
What’s stood out most in the field:
🏔️ The 100-400mm reach allows me to isolate distant details without disturbing the scene.
🌱 The constant F4.5 gives me consistent exposure control and beautiful subject separation with smooth background compression.
🦜 The fast and reliable AF makes it easy to respond to the fleeting moments on my travels.
A powerful workhorse if you ask me — especially for anyone focused on travel, landscape, or observational storytelling.

Already missing our days in Lijiang and at @amandayan_resort. Staying at Amandayan, surrounded by the mountains and quiet gardens, we felt completely immersed in the rhythm of this place.
It inspired us so deeply that we set out to bring this mini film to life, exploring the lessons it’s taught us. We crafted every detail for @aman, from storyboard to filming, direction, script, and edit.
