Some of you have been asking why I disappeared for a while and stepped away from touring…It had nothing to do with exhaustion from influencer DJ culture, airport psychosis, backstage discussions about sobriety or listening to emotionally exhausted men explaining the importance of “community” …wearing designers sunglasses in industrial spaces at 5 in the morning while unable to maintain eye contact.
The real reason was far more important.
Over the last years I have been preparing for my role in The Chronology of Water — the first feature film directed by Kristen Stewart — where I portray a policeman.
To fully understand the role I committed myself to an intensive preparation process in Latvia. I studied silence. Authority. Posture. Containment…The psychological effect of monitoring civilian movements near doors and corridors. I wanted to understand not just what a policeman does but what a policeman feels..
But art is sacrifice.
This journey fundamentally changed me and gave me a much deeper respect for law enforcement and the difficult emotional reality of being a man of the law.
I would like to thank Kristen Stewart, the entire cast and crew, and police forces internationally for their courage, discipline and service throughout this demanding process.
Looking forward to returning to music when psychologically possible.

‘A Guide To Hellthier Lifestyle’ explores the psychological landscape of contemporary social issues, offering a sideways rumination on lifestyle dilemmas and wellness obsessions, presenting itself as a response to the modern condition. It combines storytelling with innovative sound textures – encouraging listeners to pause and contemplate the absurdities of contemporary life. Neither a critique nor an endorsement, it represents an honest exploration of our world through Bjarki’s sonic lens, gleaming a heart of darkness, but eventually finding light.
The album utilises hyper-stereo techniques, soothing melodies, complex audio structures, AI-generated voices and sampled vocals – influenced by Coil, Genesis P- Orridge, and Paul Lansky. Bjarki investigates how specific frequencies can impact consciousness, awareness, mood, and mental state, thereby influencing our perception of reality. His vaporous sound design provides a listening experience that bridges the physical and imaginative realms; sometimes placing the listener in contemplative sanctuary, and at others making them lost – somewhere strange, uneasy, disconnected.
