"In Shanghai, There Are More Planes Than Birds" is a semi-fictional, diary-style work about Burmese migrant workers in China.
In a factory along the China–Myanmar border, a worker from Myanmar once said, “At that moment, I thought—there are perhaps more airplanes in Shanghai than birds.” That afternoon, he had just received news of his mother’s death. Over the course of two months, the author stayed in intermittent contact with these workers, and chose the form of a “diary” to write down their stories. These stories do not belong to a single individual; rather, they reflect shared experiences. Amid China’s “industrial transformation,” the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 coup in Myanmar, and the shift of migration policies, Burmese migrant workers face layered and intersecting difficulties shaped by multiple forces. What this “diary” seeks to portray is their inner worlds as they move through these experiences.

In the aftermath of the nationwide protests in Iran on January 8, 2025, and the violent state crackdown that followed, Chinese pro-Palestine activists had a long conversation with Iranian internationalist exiles in the same movement. The growing tendency in Western leftist discourse to frame Iran and Palestine as opposing struggles deeply concerned the leftists from both Iran and China. Drawing on their own experiences shaped by the Chinese context, PSAN situated Roja’s accounts alongside broader patterns of state control. These parallels informed a shared understanding of interconnected systems of repression across regions.

A Burmese Muslim activist in exile in Thailand reflects on the ecology of Burmese Muslim communities, their position within the current revolution, and why the question of Palestine holds such significance for their struggle. As Burmese Muslims, they are excluded from the federalist blueprint of self-governing territories envisioned after the revolution’s success. In turn, they have become one of the most intellectually radical groups within the movement, advancing a vision of “non-territorial autonomy” that transcends the logic of the nation-state.

In 2024, the documentary No Other Land, co-produced by Palestinian and Jewish activists from Masafer Yatta. Attempted to draw a family tree covering roughly five hundred villagers. The author follows two threads simultaneously: one traces verifiable institutional and geographic transformations, tracking how a community is systematically rendered illegal through planning regimes and court rulings; the other comes from lived encounters, oral testimony, and the moments when people entrusted me with their names, their kinship ties, and their past.

Since a printing workshop led by @bleed.print has been running for a week in our space now, on this upcoming open day, we will transform the reading room to a space to map printing resources, exchange needs around solidarity-based publishing, as part of an ongoing effort to connect people interested in building an activism printing network in Berlin.
We welcome everyone to drop by anytime from 2pm-7pm this Sunday (May 10th), to see book making process, to explore risography, to discuss collaborative print practices for activism.

🔻The Peoples Want manifesto @the_peoples_want brings together the lessons and analyses that we have drawn from the last two decades of struggle and from our exchanges at the four previous internationalist gatherings we‘ve organised. It sets out our vision for a revolutionary internationalism for the 21st century. It looks at both successes and challenges faced by insurgents in various contexts. It sets out our shared understanding of the current situation and our initial working hypotheses to strengthen our collective work for the future.
💣This is a version designed by Tofu Stand as a special edition, printed 180 copies by Bleed Print. All proceeds will go to Mujawara network of The People Want, for supporting two new spaces to open, one in post-revolution Syrian and one in Uganda organised by Sudanese exiles.
🕸️About Mujawara: The Arabic word Mujawara refers to a revolutionary neighbourlineness, that we have already begun to weave from all these territories, these spaces and popular powers born of our struggles. From this planetary mutual aid that we will deploy in June 2026, resources will be pooled, new spaces will spring up, walls will be repaired, new alliances will be forged, and maybe from all this, wounds will be healed and new hopes will begin to sprout.
💈For the special edition, you can purchase in:
Berlin: @gelispark
Rotteram: @availableandtherat
🪜The text is also online in French and English: https://thepeopleswant.org/en/manifesto
🌱The Chinese version will be out soon, stay tuned!

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
