Ash has to be one of the best lyricists of all time and this record is definitely a testament to that.

I have spent countless hours over the past year both in the studio and on FaceTime with @anthonyli working on this incredible project. I was fortunate to help craft early demos and see this thing through to mastering. So grateful to the whole team behind the project and everyone that contributed their art to it.

Absolute privilege to work on this one. @madelinekeyse delivered an incredible, heart breaking vocal performance that really showcases this song in a new light.

When planning for the Deluxe version of Trauma Bond, I ran the idea of doing an acoustic version of Flesh & Blood by her, but it wasn’t until we put a final vocal on that I realized just how special this song was.

“Sweat on the dance floor and dirt shoveled down in the grave”. Life is beautiful and painful and it’s a gift to feel it as deeply as we can. This is the full music video for “Weddings & Funerals”, a song that came to me through loving and miles on the road and loss and celebration. This video is the result of an immense effort by Director Ryan Bergeron to get the right shots all over Los Angeles, including capturing some extremely rare torrential rain. We were almost killed by someone doing donuts in a Dodge Charger in the parking lot, but we persevered and got an incredible video that captures the spirit of searching and working and thinking and finding.

Collaborating with Ryan and all the musicians who worked on this track is something I feel so grateful for. There is so much talent in this world and tapping into it for the sake of making something cool is extremely righteous. Please enjoy and I hope it speaks to you.
