Over the past few months, we’ve been working closely with Richard to perfect his scans for this publication, matching them to an original set of C-types printed by Paul Graham 👀

After weeks of printing hundreds of tests on our pigment printer, we were able to match and improve on many of these images, providing @Mack_Books with a complete set of match prints to aid the printing of the recently published book 🚀

The new edition of Rays a Laugh includes previously unseen images and is sold alongside ‘Ray’s a Laugh: A Reader’ edited by Liz Jobey, which traces the books compelling history 🤩

Dj’s on the night will be spinning CUMBIA, TANGO, SALSA, BOSA NOVA + Much much more :)

A Sonic Archive of South American Soul (1970–1989)

What began as a deep dive into the visual history of Colombian music has transformed into a sensory obsession. After meticulously archiving and documenting over 400 vintage record covers at the Bread & Butter Studio, we found ourselves captivated by more than just the ink and the cardboard. We became haunted by the music hidden beneath the surface.

The vibrant typography, the saturated colours, and the weathered textures of these sleeves told a story that demanded to be heard. We felt a responsibility to peel back the layers and bring the spirit of these archives to life.

‘With Great Pleasure’—aka ‘Con Mucho Gusto’—is a one-night-only immersive event. We are stepping out from behind the scanner and into the DJ booth to showcase a curated selection of 70s and 80s Colombian gems sourced directly from our research. From the hypnotic pulse of coastal Cumbia to the high-voltage energy of Salsa Brava and the psychedelic experiments of the Tropicalia underground, this is an invitation to experience the archive in its intended form: Loud, rhythmic, and together.

Ok. So we do lots of things as well as printing but yeah.... We do make some crackers 🎇🧨🥠

Made with emotion; with skills based on analogue knowledge, with a drive, with patience and always with love - Our pigment prints have been enjoyed from Hong Kong, to LA, Berlin to Cape Town, by museums, photographers & exhibition visitors to special edition book prints for people to cherish in their homes. Whatever the need, we like to listen, suggest and help a client towards creating something beautiful.

We've worked with hundreds of artists over the years and always enjoy the bespoke element of the job. Be it the old famous Taylor Wedding portrait prize, a print sale, portfolio or a gift, we always ensure archival materials are used to help ensure longevity and enjoyment.

More than beautiful prints

As well as using the amazing Imacon to help digitise work, for the past few years we've been very busy using a custom built DSLR set up to help quickly capture content for a variety of clients.

Polaroids, prints, negs and even my own baby have passed through our system shooting tethered with the almighty @captureone software!

Weve been working on thousands of 10x8 prints recently and now have A1 sized posters to turn our attention too.
