D-Tex’s story is one of resilience and reinvention: a fierce competitor expected to represent on the Olympic stage before a devastating shoulder injury in 2023 halted everything. 💥💔

Forced to put his career on hold, D-Tex had to find ways to survive—physically and financially—as a freelance performance artist. With no safety net in the U.S. healthcare system, he turned to his community to raise funds, eventually seeking surgery and rehab overseas. 💸✈️

Now, he’s fighting his way back—stronger, wiser, and more determined than ever to Break through every obstacle and reclaim his stage. 💪🏽🔥

As some of you may be aware, I have spent the last two years working on a documentary w/ @bboyelnino @flyyathanyou @bgirlmel & @bboy_dtex! In addition to keeping an eye on the excitement around the Paris Olympic Games and the debut of Breakin’ on that stage, I have been following four dancers throughout their individual journeys to see how this moment would impact their lives and the larger Breakin’ community.

On Thursday, February 27th we will be hosting a screening of the new teaser for our documentary followed by a Q&A including Team USA Member, Alex “El Niño” Diaz and myself! This event will be an opportunity for folks to support our crowd-funding campaign to help get the film over the finish line.

Doors will open at 7pm, with a hard start at 7:30pm and will end at 8:30pm with some time to mingle until 9pm.
We will also be offering some light snacks and refreshments for all in attendance.
