Frederick Wiseman passed away today. If you don’t know him, I promise you have been influenced by his work in ways you may not fully understand. Fifty years ago Wiseman was doing for our society what cell phones cameras are doing today. Documenting the beauty and the horrors of power structures and humanity. And he kept making films until his death today - I counted 46 at least.

His films are often slow - sometimes agonizingly slow. But this is on purpose. Wiseman is asking you to look at the world patiently. And, as Errol Morris points out, there is guaranteed to be a scene in every one of his films that will haunt you as long as you live.

I spent a lot of time with Wiseman’s films while working on a short tribute film for his honorary Academy Award in 2016.Davis Guggenheim directed the film and we got sound bites from Wes Anderson, Errol Morris, D.A. Pennebaker, Barbara Kopple and many more.

I owe Frederick Wiseman a debt of gratitude for his way of watching and editing.

I got to direct Iliza Schlesinger @ilizas in this new campaign by @bliss, which pokes fun at the insane “Sephora Kids” trend. In case you missed it, this TikTok-fueled trend has actual children swarming beauty stores, scooping up skincare products intended for adults.

I’m so glad that @bliss is willing to call this trend what it is (fucked up) and do so with a sense of humor.

This shoot was an absolute blast.
AND it’s heading for TV screens nationwide!

Thanks to @bliss, @madamemitzner and the AS Beauty dream team @haleylim, @alexandraanna17 Thank you, @janajuhas and @productionxinc. And ALWAYS @rubenmonkey thank you for shooting this fantastic spot and bringing on a stellar team so I could focus on directing. I love working with ALL of you.

We have a new market & restaurant in our little pocket of Echo Park. @henriettala is an Italian inspired deli, kitchen and market and everything about it is deliciously curated and intentional.

Norman and I walk by this storefront everyday on our morning walk - and for months we’ve wondered who our new neighbors would be. We’re just thrilled with Henrietta and can feel the hard work and love that owner Max Lesser and his team put into bringing a place like this to life.

BUT… it gets even more SPECIAL!

I just found out that Max’s wife @manesnmutts one of the amazing women behind @muttscouts - the dog rescue group that brought Norman into my life. You guys! How cool is this??

In a year when everything seems to be burning up, this kind of lovely neighborhood synergy just feels so good.

If you have any small or large amount of money to spare - @muttscouts could use all the help in the world on this #GIVINGTUESDAY.They really do amazing work.

Do it for Norman 💛

And come visit @henriettala all the time

These last six weeks with my Dad have turned into an incredible gift for us both.

Ron is doing incredible! Damn near a full recovery. My sisters and I really didn’t expect this when he was released from the hospital. He is walking upto 30 minutes a day and riding an exercise bike to try to work on his overall stamina.

Most importantly, his personality and spirit have returned these last few weeks. We are grateful for all of it, but especially grateful to have the light in his eyes return. And we know we are lucky. We lost Carolyn less than a year ago and so many of you are losing your family members as we get more time with ours. It is not lost on us and we are cherishing every moment with him.

Ron and I needed this time together - in more ways than just helping his recovery. I moved into my old high school bedroom. Setup a proper office in one corner and moved some of my own furniture and art in. The last person to spend time in that room was Carolyn and her spirit is always present.

Dad still reads every page of the New York Times in the mornings and I get his cast off pages. He drinks cold brew now, but keeps wanting to use hot water to ‘jump start the brewing process.’ Then we try to go for a long walk together with Norman bopping along.

AND… I’ve been embarking on the gargantuan task of trying to finish a basement apartment that Dad envisioned all the way back in the 90’s. Three decades of life piled up down there made that seem impossible. But I have been tackling it with purpose. Some truck loads to the dump and many plastic bins to organize the valuables. Turns out it’s easier to organizing someone else’s chaos rather than deal with your own.🫣
.
This apartment project will take a while but it feels good to be working on it with Dad. This might be the last big thing we make together and that’s ok. I’m proud of us and him and my siblings and our mom for the way we family and heal and do the work.
.
BIG love from Capitol Hill

This apartment project will take a while but it feels good to be working on it with Dad. This might be the last big thing we make together and that’s ok. I’m proud of us and him and my siblings and our mom for the way we family and heal and do the work.

Dad is back home!
.
He’s been out of the hospital for almost two weeks, staying at skilled nursing and then with my sister for a week. I’ll stay in Seattle to live with him at home for the next month - likely longer.
.
Dad is definitely affected by his fall and his month in the hospital. His default state is action, movement, helpfulness, capability - so being anything less is frustrating for him. We are trying to remind him to be patient with his body and mind which have taken him this far and kept him alive.
.
His is walking without a walker, but gets tired easily. So he, Norman and I try to take three short walks per day. We have PT exercises and pills to sort and routines to establish. We are starting to dig out of this massive house he’s been living in for 30 years - and started on his closet a few days ago. My sisters are here often and we are a good team in this care thing 💖
.
If 2025 has taught us anything it’s that we can lose what we cherish in an instant. Ron/Dad will be with us for a while - but change is here and we’re ok with that because we’re in the moment and we know it’s precious - the time we have right now. 🌺☀️❤️

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
