Bristol Unscripted Network is now just over a year old - and we couldn’t have begun our gatherings at a more important time for the industry.
There’s lots of stress and strife out there; we have personally suffered it too, and in solidarity we’ll be supporting our community again in the New Year.
In 2024, BUNS:
-Gathered almost 40 freelancer testimonials to create a 100 page document informing the then-Shadow Cabinet about the current crisis and creative freelancers’ working conditions
-Worked with Films at 59 to provide Masterclasses in Data Wrangling and Grading
-Hosted a John Yorke Story Documentary Masterclass at BBC Studios
-Represented freelancers’ concerns and tweeted live from the Creative Cities Convention
-Hosted an Expert Panel about the Industry Crisis and ways forward for Bristol, at the Watershed. Link here: https://youtu.be/Vzr33lZh6eU (many thanks to Helen Lancaster for filming the event)
-Supported TV Mindset’s Creative Freelancer Hubs in Bristol
-Gave a talk to the South West Talent Managers group
-Began BUNS Doc Club - which has now morphed into the exciting collaboration Bristol Doc Club, in partnership with the Doc Film Council, Doc West, Doc Yards and the Watershed.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has attended, volunteered, donated, hosted and supported our efforts this year. Thank you all - and a big YAY to Bristol’s brilliant and best creative community!
BUNS is looking forward to some exciting new plans for 2025… if you’d like to help us, please get in touch.
We hope you have a lovely Christmas break, and a Very Happy New Year!
With best wishes, the BUNS co-directors:
Benjamin Luke
Stephanie Wessell
Helen Waddell
Alice Crinnigan
Natalia Atkins
… with brilliant help from
Phoebe Sinclair
Maxine Trump
and many, many more… we love you all. THANK YOU.

We are very excited to share @bristoldocclub, a new collaboration with existing networks in the region, the @bristolunscripted, Doc West and some of our DFC members.

BUNS PRESENTS
After The Crisis: The Future of Unscripted TV
(Ticket link in bio!)
Our industry has seen a massive downturn in commissioning over the last year and a half. The whole industry is suffering, with freelancers, companies and broadcasters trying to weather the storm with mantras of ‘Survive until 2025’ and ‘Fewer, bigger, better’.
But what do these phrases mean practically, for Bristol’s future? What models are likely to be introduced? What practical steps can we as freelancers, companies and commissioners take to ensure our industry remains viable, creative, world-leading, and a fantastic place to work?
BUNS is gathering a panel of experts to discuss the crisis, its effects, and what everyone can do to ensure Bristol continues to be a centre of excellence for factual content and more.
The complete line up of panel guests is TBD but we have confirmed:
Mark Hill - Executive TV Consultant
Dominic Pisani - Coalition for Change/TV Mindset Committee Member and Series Producer
Thomasina Gibson - Pact Council Member and Director of Heroes Productions
…. plus more to be announced.
Date: Wednesday, 26th June 2024
Doors Open: Doors open: 18:30
Event: 19:00 - 21:00
Networking: 21:00 - Close
Location: The Watershed, 1 Canon’s Road, Bristol BS1 5TX

Today BUNS is launching Skillshare Thursday.
Our network has an incredible range of skilled professionals in it, as well as a group of people who want to expand their skills and diversify in the broadcasting industry.
So every Thursday we're giving our members the space to tell people what skills they'd like to learn, and we'll try to link you with another member who can help you!
This will largely be over on our Facebook and LinkedIn pages (see link in Bio), but you can always DM us with any requests!

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
Keep track of Instagram updates discreetly while protecting your privacy and staying anonymous.
View profiles and photos anonymously with ease using the Private Profile Viewer.
This free tool allows you to view Instagram Stories anonymously, ensuring your activity remains hidden from the story uploader.
Anonstories lets users view Instagram stories without alerting the creator.
Works seamlessly on iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, and modern browsers like Chrome and Safari.
Prioritizes secure, anonymous browsing without requiring login credentials.
Users can view public stories by simply entering a username—no account needed.
Downloads photos (JPEG) and videos (MP4) with ease.
The service is free to use.
Content from private accounts can only be accessed by followers.
Files are for personal or educational use only and must comply with copyright rules.
