The official corporate schlamquarters

We're so excited for the Grammys this Sunday, Feb. 4! Congrats to Bryan Schlam on his Grammy nomination for Directing Tyler Childers' groundbreaking video for "In Your Love." It now boasts 8.6 million views on YouTube and is nominated for Best Music Video at the 2024 Grammy Awards.
The video has been hailed as the first country music video to portray a gay love story.
The video tells an LGBTQ love story between two coal miners in 1950s Appalachia. Childers — a native Kentuckian — sparked the initial idea, as he wanted to make a video inspired by his cousin, who is gay. The story was further developed by author Silas House and his husband, author Jason Kyle Howard. Naturally, the video needed a director, so Childers turned to Bryan Schlam, who directed the singer's video for "Angel Band," to bring the story to life.
Schlam chatted with Wide Open Country about the process of creating the video and the importance of the message crafted within it.
"Tyler likes to tell stories that really relate to Appalachia, where he's from, and Silas is also from the same area, so I think in terms of Silas' inspiration, he wanted to create a love story that took place in a rural community," Schlam says of the video's inspiration. "There are a lot of LGBTQ stories where it follows couples who are leaving these rural areas to get away to the city and find refuge there. It was important that this represented the love that can take place in a rural community."

This is one of my favorite videos I’ve ever made. Peace and Love to Billy & the dankest crew in the west. And big thanks to Willie Nelson and his family for letting us shoot at his place.
It’s really just your average run of the mill music video that has stunts, animals, kids, fire, pyro, guns and car rigs in 100+ degree heat with no shade that’s shot in two days and has look exactly like a Sergio Leone movie. You know, easy street baby.

Billy Strings - “Seven Weeks In County” (Sette Settimane En Prigione)Link in Bio

You see in this world there’s two kinds of people. Those who don’t make incredible music videos, and those who do. @billystrings and @bryanschlam ? They do.
It’s hard to put into words just how impressed we are by the new spaghetti western-inspired clip for Mr. Strings latest single ‘Seven Weeks In County’, and even harder to do it justice with this shitty 90-second vertical Instagram reel.
To cut a long story short, whatever sauce directors like Sergio Leone and Sergio Corbucci were putting on their spaghetti in the sixties, director Bryan Schlam has managed reverse engineer it and pull off one of the most authentic looking, feeling and sounding homages to the genre we’ve ever seen.
“I watched every spaghetti western I could get my hands on to prep. I used elements of my favourite films, mainly ‘Django’ for the coffin, ‘A Few Dollars More’ for the pocket watch, ‘The Good The Bad and The Ugly’ for the hanging and ‘The Big Gundown’ for budget cinematics. The gatling gun was a trope that I loved that was in a ton of westerns, so I had to put that in there [as well].”
“We shot at Luck Ranch, which is at Willie Nelson’s house. The bar was part of the set from Redheaded Stranger, but the interior had been renovated so I had our production designer Dakota and his art team recreate the old one. We even matched the original wallpaper.”
“We shot as practical as possible – we used CO2 cartridges to get actual pops from the guns, a firework to break the rope for the hanging scene, and even a camera mounted to a gun for the down-the-barrel shot - the rig was hilarious.”
“What you’re watching was shot digitally, but then transferred to film – which gives it that vintage 60s look. The goal was to try and match Sergio Leone’s spaghetti westerns in terms of aesthetic, making it feel cinematic and vintage. We wanted to stay away from any American western references and keep everything Italian.”
“Even the intro credits had fake Italian versions of our names. Maybe it was a bad call having it say in big letters “directed by Bruno Sclavi” instead of my name but I had to stay committed.”
Bellisimo 🤌
Catch ‘Seven Weeks In County’ tomorrow night + all this weekend on rage.

What a production….And what a response so far.
I had the pleasure of collaborating with the amazingly talented @coltonlhaynes and @scullynjames, who both gave us arguably the best performances in a music video ever. Although I’m biased…but I think most people would agree judging by the many tears in countless reaction videos being posted right now.
Of course I worked again with @doug.e.porter, my genius DP who lensed feature film visuals for us. Long, long nights posted up in the airbnb planning everything meticulously to make sure we didn’t waste a second on set.
Our production team @whitneywolanin, @lorenhgreene & @nolanpugh made everything you see on screen happen. From the mine, to the farm, the entire transformation of the bar…I can’t imagine having a better team.
My trusted collaborator @anachro.nistic did soooo much research with me on 1950s styling and production design and just nailed every single look like she always does. @ms.a_alberto gave us Production Design so good that no one can possibly believe she built and struck all the locations in the same day. That stage Tyler and The Food Stamps play on didn’t exist when we showed up. She made it happen.
The team at @ghostrobot too. @kcmfb626 working from NYC holding it down and @jpizzlemed on set, keeping us on track. Can’t thank you enough.
None of this would be possible without being able to work with @silashouse & @jasonkylehoward on their fantastic narrative they created. And @timmytychilders for his incredible song. Tyler and Nick Robespierre essentially hired me point blank and gave me their entire trust to tell this story. I knew I couldn’t let you down.
And I can’t forget about @sweet_jinny, who knew Tyler & I would be great collaborators before I even put pen to paper on my first treatment for Angel Band.
Seeing these powerful videos on social media of people’s reactions to the video is straight up unbelievable. I had the privilege of your attention and I hope you left with a new perspective.
For those of you who see themselves in this music video, this was made for you. You guys take it from here. This is your video now.

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles.
