Last Thursday’s songs you can touch @recessgrove ft. the gorgeous @whoisjernie @danisundream and @cloveronthemic was the birth of something new that I’m very excited to share with you.
That’s Interesting! (@thatsinteresting.studio) is the name of my new platform for the wide variety of creative events that I love to host. Ever since college, designing experiences that enable the artist inside each person to come out and play has been the throughline of the work that has mattered most to me. Late last year I realized it was time to start hosting these events under a wider conceptual umbrella that just my own name.
That’s Interesting! is a curio shop of creative experiences & studio for the playful practice of attention. Some of the kinds of events you can expect to find when you come:
🐣 Interactive performances (music, theatre, hybrid)
🐣 Participatory art parties
🐣 Workshops, salons, and one-day ensemble experiences
I see That’s Interesting! as part of the attention activism movement, recognizing the exploitation of human attention as a critical issue of our time, and creating spaces to practice an alternative to the endless mind-numb of the endless scroll (with gratitude to @schoolofattention among others for this framing). That’s Interesting! is a place to use your attention with intention, and to bring conscious curiosity to the artful beauty of the world around us.
Above all, That’s Interesting! is a place where I truly hope you’ll always be moved to say…that’s interesting! It feels good to be giving a name to something that’s been an important thread in my life for a long time.
Follow the brand-new IG account @thatsinteresting.studio (how often do you get to get in on the ground floor like that?) and RSVP to our next event, the TASK Party at @fabriksocialspaces Dumbo next Friday, February 6. Link in bio.
Stay interesting!!

Take 5 minutes today to go to my YouTube channel and watch the @nprmusic Tiny Desk version of Henrietta’s Treasures. I love it, I’m proud of it, and I think you’ll love it too. You’ll find it at the link in my bio.
This is a song about the bonds that form between older women who own vintage stores and queer people, as we try on costumes to figure out who we really are.
I am deeply grateful to the following folks for making this video possible — and so fun and easy to make:
@mia.friedman_
@benemmerich.music
@gestaltsjournal
@whoisjernie
@actorfiesta
@freddyourlove
@empire.stage
And, of course, Henrietta herself.
Channel your inner Henrietta
Wear the wildest thing
Your heart will thank you for it

When I was in the fifth grade I wrote a play called SHATTERED: a Drama in Two Acts. Set in Revolutionary War-era Philadelphia, it follows a Patriot family as they navigate massive social upheaval, alongside romances that bloom across enemy lines, shotgun weddings, deaths by tuberculosis, and the family falling into general destitution and despair.
In many ways SHATTERED is the best play I’ve ever written, because it is completely unselfconscious in its aspiration to be a well-wrought tragedy. It is also a fascinating prism into my childhood conception of what this country was, alongside the revolution that birthed it.
It’s been ten years since the last major public reading of SHATTERED. A lot has happened since then, wouldn’t you say? Seems like a good time to come together, laugh, cry, reflect on wtf is going on here, and dream forward about a better future. Grateful to our hosts @lightningsociety for hosting us, and @msdanajoy for prompting me to bring this beloved event back.

Don’t miss it.

Last week @iamjojo came to @nyvocalcollective rehearsal as we prepare for our show this coming weekend at @elmuseo. Aside from the obvious things to admire about JoJo as a vocalist, I learned how generous she is with her time and energy, and how sincere she is about music as a pathway to connection, not just as a livelihood. It was an instance of “do meet your heroes.”
You should come to the NYVC concert on Saturday night! The level of finesse and heart-forwardness on display in this group is beyond comprehension. I bet you’ll leave feeling more connected, too. Tix at the link in my bio. 🐣
Thank you to @jessumanoff for capturing this moment. 💜

What will happen if you attend The Play Principle at @fabriksocialspaces tomorrow night??
Well, we can’t say for sure, since play by its very nature is all about improvisation and emergence and letting the next thing unfold without being sure what it is 😉
BUT…here are some things that might occur:
🤪 you might find yourself engaged in dancing, or deep study, or both at once
😜 you might find yourself in conversation with wise ones, or fools…or both at once
🙃 you might discover the secret!!
The Play Principle is an experiential research seminar on play as a spiritual practice, and as a form of attention activism. What does that mean? Girl idk!! That’s why you need to be there!
Get a ticket at the link in bio
If you dare 😈

If you knew me between the ages of about 7 and 22, “theatre kid” probably would have been the top line item in your understanding of me and what I cared about. In my adult life acting has mostly played a background role, in part because my unfolding artistic journey has taken me other places, and in part because I was afraid to give auditioning a serious try until now.
The last two weekends I had the joy of being back onstage with a ferociously funny and very sweet cast of misfits in @outplaynyc’s THE HOMOSEXUALS, by @ajaggedlittlephil. I! Fucking! Loved it!!! I felt at ease, in flow, and free of the (psychological) drama that made acting feel cluttered and constraining by the time I stopped pursuing it in my 20s. It couldn’t have been a more perfect first show back. I’m grateful to @christophercbasile @davidjosephbaldwin, the cast, and the whole OUT/PLAY team for making this such a joyful experience. Now I’m on the prowl for more 😈😈😈 cast me!! 😘

Ain’t it fun living in the real world?
That’s what TASK Parties are all about: living in the real world of life as a giant improvisation. The structure is simple: write a task, put it in a common pool, pick one, make it happen. Everything that happens in between and as a result — the effervescence, doubt, hyperfocus, diversion, whimsy, and moments of sublime beauty — that is the real world. Ain’t it fun?
Join us April 15. RSVP by Luma at link in bio.

TASK Parties are always FREE!

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
