3 things I learnt traveling Iceland with strangers…

1. You don’t make friends by waiting for them to find you.
You make them by putting yourself in situations that require presence. Adventure compresses time and shared experience accelerates connection. A week of waterfalls, windburn and long van ride chats did more for me than a year of staying comfortable ever could.

2. A camera doesn’t just document a trip, it changes the way you see it. Having something in my hands (even an entry level camera like the @canoncanada R100) forced me to slow down and notice light, patterns and human moments I would’ve otherwise missed with just my phone. When you’re looking for photos you just look a little longer and see more. It wasn’t about having pro camera gear, it was about having a reason to pay attention and that changed the whole trip for me.

3. The right structure creates freedom.
I have never taken a group trip because I was scared I would lack freedom but really freedom was exactly what it gave. Traveling with @intrepidtravel meant I didn’t have to think about logistics, timing, bookings, scams or any other unknowns. All I had to think about was experiencing the country and meeting the people.
I went to Iceland thinking I was celebrating a birthday.
Turns out I was rebuilding something I didn’t realize I’d been neglecting.

If you’ve been feeling stuck, maybe it’s not a mindset problem.
Maybe it’s just time to spark your creativity and ignite new friendships.
