Casey Driessen’s Blue Ridge Fiddle Camp returns for an exciting third year at the Brevard Music Center, August 19–22, 2026, culminating with the high-energy Fiddle Forward concert on August 22nd. Applications are open January 14th to March 14.

Presented by Mountain Song Productions and the Brevard Music Center, this immersive camp features instruction from Casey, Swedish 5-string violist Mikael Marin (Väsen), funky-grassy fiddler/vocalist Kathleen Parks (Twisted Pine), Cajun & Creole fiddler Cedric Watson (Bijou Creole), renowned experimental fusion drummer Jeff Sipe (Aquarium Rescue Unit), and freestyle fiddle master Darol Anger as this year’s Artist-in-Residence. Had a blast sitting in with the Dave Matthews Band in Charlotte…came home with the songs rolling around in my head, still playing them, Tripping Billies in particular. ABOUT THE COLLABORATION
My final collaboration in northern Italy was with organetto extraordinaire Filippo Gambetta, in a park along the Italian Riviera. He showed me a tune called a monferrina from the Quattro Province region. At times, it felt like we were one instrument, ebbing and flowing, breathing in sync. Dynamic, conversational, and spontaneous. I like this setting for music, and I like this duo. Make sure to check out his music and projects!
