Pari turns 6, which means we graduated skool 🎓📚🥹 In the spirit of growth, reflection and ritual, we hosting a hybrid public program ~ Pari Yearbook ~ to celebrate the closing of Mixed Business 6, our final exhibition of the year.

👾 Hello World, meet 𝔾𝕙𝕠𝕤𝕥 𝕚𝕟 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕄𝕒𝕔𝕙𝕚𝕟𝕖, a group show that we've been working on under the wraps→brought to you by @celacious666, @rainerciar, @feithebeast & @kalanjay

We're thrilled to be exhibiting at @outerspace.brisbane in Meanjin! Opening on 30 May, if you're in town, come celebrate with us from 6-9pm 🪩 @feithebeast will be performing a new work 'The Shell' 🪽

𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕:
What if we find our souls to be enmeshed in media and fictional imaginings? That the ghosts of us reside and stir within other vessels or interfaces; our realities (re)written, performed, and embodied even though we know it all to be a story. To describe a feeling through giving it a face — to use it as a mask or a shield. What if I’m more real when I’m projecting?

'Ghost in the Machine' brings together Celacious666, Rainer Ciar, Fei Gao and Kalanjay Dhir, whose shared interests in avatars and embodiment were born from fiction and digital cultures. Reliving memories and emotions through roleplay — by creating costume, illustrations and fanwork, the artists manifest alternate personas and characters that give body and form to psychological landscapes. Mediated through degrees of separation, these fantasies are part escapist, part confrontation with being human. In wearing our masks as extensions of ourselves, we may all embody others and share in their lives, loves, and sorrows for a moment.

FOLLOW YOUR HEART TO ‘THE PATH’ BY FEI GAO 🪐

All Paths converge @ Verge next week, with a series of dynamic performances bringing to life the migration journeys of five friends and celebrating the bonds and communities that migrants forge to support one another in the face of adversity.

On Thursday night, join us for the final performance, alongside a DJ set by ‘The Path’ soundtrack composer, Sim Cheuanghane (@e3p___). Enjoy drinks at the bar, grab some free pizza and bring your friends along for this celebration of belonging and connection as we welcome our Verge community back for 2025!

The Path takes place in the context of current exhibition ‘You’re Welcome?’ and @USU.USyd’s Welcome fest.

Mazura follows the journey of a bubble floating to the surface, while resisting dark currents of emotions. Determined to embark on the path of least resistance, Mazura chooses to ride the momentum of the tide created by those who came before them. Wearing her watery heart on her sleeve, she sings an ode to adaptability, honouring fluidity and permeability. She vows to stay soft, and to let experiences in and to be ever shape-shifting.
