We’re taking a major step toward ending deed theft with the creation of the Office of Deed Theft Prevention, a victory and turning point in our city’s history for Black homeowners. I remember the countless calls and texts with @nycmayor on the campaign trail pushing to create this office and today it’s finally a reality.
For decades, deed theft has gone unchecked, stealing Black homes, destabilizing families, and stripping generational wealth. Today, we are bringing the full force of city government to bear.
This victory was won in partnership with the People’s Coalition to @stopdeedtheft. This would not have been possible without the coalition. Thank you to @mr.judebernard and @thebrooklynbank for your advocacy for homeowners and for hosting us in your space. This sends a clear message: New York City will not allow displacement to continue. Not another Black home will be stolen. As long as I have power, every last breath will be used to ensure Black Brooklyn is never erased.

Some good news for once: The broker fee as we know it is likely over in New York City.
A City Council bill that would prevent your landlord from charging you the fee that their broker is actually charging them just passed after years of opposition from the real estate industry. The FARE (Fairness in Apartment Rentals) Act, which was first introduced by @ChiOsse in 2023, states that a landlord has to pay the fee for a broker who lists a unit for them and that brokers and landlords have to disclose any other fees to tenants up front. It sounds simple but it was actually extremely hard to get here. Also a good sign: As of Tuesday afternoon there were 33 co-sponsors and Ossé expects more will vote in support of the bill. A threshold of 34 makes it veto-proof.
Read about how council member Ossé got the bill through, and how this will affect your future apartment search, at the link in our bio.
Forced Broker Fees are dead this coming Wednesday, June 11th! Know your rights so landlords + brokers can’t scam you - SPREAD THE WORD
Are you a freelancer who hasn’t been paid in Net 30? Well, today I’m introducing a bill to fix that!

Lower Manhattan: Vote @ryderfornewyork for State Assembly!
My official endorsement for NYS Assembly District 66.
Protestors congregated at the 79th Precinct station after Councilman @chiosse was slammed to the ground and arrested outside the home of Carmella Charrington on Jefferson Avenue earlier today.
As the councilman for the 36th District, Ossé represents Bed-Stuy and parts of northern Crown Heights, two neighborhoods acutely impacted by the development practice of “deed theft,” or illegally transferring property ownership without the owner’s consent, or even knowledge.

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
