Join us Saturday, May 9 for Clockshop’s Kite Festival at Los Angeles State Historic Park from2:00–6:00 PM. As part of Clockshop’s artist commissions, Christine Sun Kim (@chrisunkim) and Thomas Mader (@thomasmadertm)(@signexact) will unveil an inflatable sculpture, ‘The Weather,’ which will take flight during the event.
Commissioned by Clockshop, artists Christine Sun Kim and Thomas Mader present “The Weather,” an inflatable sculpture set to take flight during the event.
“The Weather” includes five inflatable elements—a tongue, a pointed finger, and three clouds—that visualize the American Sign Language phrase “finger to the wind,” meaning “let’s hope for the best.” The installation reflects the uncertainty of the political climate in the United States and the future of the park, while also offering a sense of hope and playfulness.
RSVP to Clockshop’s Kite Festival, and explore FAQs and transit information at the link in our bio or (clockshop.org). Admission is free. A suggested donation of $5–10 helps us keep it that way.

Tracing the path taken by her hand as the artist signs “all day” and “all night” in ASL, Christine Sun Kim translates the phrases into graphic form. Through shaped raw canvas in “All Day All Night” and drawn lines in “All. Day.” and its counterpart, “All. Night.” we can visualize the movement of the sun rising over the horizon and then dipping below it.
Throughout the exhibition, with works spanning drawing, sculpture, video, and installation, Kim challenges the assumption that spoken languages hold greater value than those that are signed.
Experience the work on view in Christine Sun Kim, “All Day All Night.” Admission is free every Thursday night and on the first Saturday of every month.

Christine Sun Kim’s first major museum survey draws on the dynamism of ASL to reshape notions of sound and communication.
Using musical notation, infographics, and text, Kim interrogates language and amplifies the possibilities of Deaf sonic experience.
Experience “All Day All Night” for free during Free Thursday Nights and Free First Saturdays.
Take a peek behind the scenes as we prepare for the opening of “Christine Sun Kim: All Day All Night.”
The mural “Ghost(ed) Notes” leads visitors into the exhibition. While referencing the musical phenomenon of “ghost notes,” notes that add rhythmic texture but have little sound, Kim uses modified staff lines contorted around the notes to suggest they’re being actively avoided, or “ghosted.” The mural reflects Kim’s experiences of being ghosted by people and institutions who refuse accommodations and ignore the needs of Deaf and disabled people.
“Christine Sun Kim: All Day All Night” opens Saturday.

Christine Sun Kim (@chrisunkim) offers you the first peek at Art Basel Hong Kong with her work “A String of Echo Traps.” In collaboration with @artbasel’s offsite Encounters at Pacific Place (@pacificplacehk), the work is supported as part of Swire Properties Arts Month (@swireproperties_arts).
Christine describes an Echo Trap as exactly that — an echo, always contained within its shape, no matter how large it grows. But over the years, I’ve seen her work from London to New York, Shanghai to Hong Kong, with Seoul coming soon. I see it differently. The world is her container. Each installation is an echo traveling far beyond its original vessel, meeting new eyes in every city, amplifying with every new room it enters. Rather than being trapped, they expand infinitely.
Across her practice, that same tension holds true. She works across video, drawing, and large-scale murals — but at the core of it all is language. What happens when language moves between bodies, between systems, between worlds. “A String of Echo Traps” takes the echo as its central metaphor: the way a message reverberates through an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter — traveling from one language into another, transforming in transit. The animation shows an echo getting trapped inside a shape, caught in its own loop, similar to how meaning forms within a closed group.
Special thanks to Beth Staehle (@dearmisslizzy)! And if you’re looking for more art across town, Swire Properties also has an activation with the artist Gabriel Rico at Starstreet Precinct.

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
