Undoubtedly common texts to receive from ones’ parents!

But what if you were to witness a piece of theatre where the entirety of the dialogue was comprised solely of texts from parents? Your fave sibling duo, Justin and Cat Cimino, are teaming up for one night only to give you exactly that. After weeeks of sifting through every text they’ve ever received from their incredible, hilarious, brilliant parents, The Cimino Sibs bring you: Texts From Our Parents—a strange, funny, heartfelt short play about two estranged siblings who reunite at a funeral and sort through some shit.

The night includes drinks and light fare at cocktail hour, a reading of a new piece unlike anything you’ve seen before, and some tunes and chats to follow as we keep the drinks and vibes flowing.

This event is a fundraiser for BABY: a short film, written by Cat Cimino, set to premiere and hit the festival circuit in 2026.

Have wanted to do a solo show for a long time. Then after the pandemic I didn’t wanna be solo anymore, and I got back in the room with an ensemble. Continued to work on my show about Death, a subject I’ve been reading articles and books about and listening to podcasts about and watching movies about and talking to people about for nearly 10 years.

For the past 10 months I’ve been working on this Death Show, and for 10 days the ensemble and I have been in residency at @3amtheatre refining that show, and we’d like to invite you into the space to see a workshop presentation. (Ticket link in bio) This is scary for me and all of us. But at least we will be together!!!

"Remember You Must Die" is presented at 3AM under their “Boundless Motion" residency program, which offers performing artists 20 hours to develop a new work or revise and revisit existing work.

For over 3 years, I’ve struggled to figure out how to come back to making theater with a group of people in a space again.

That whole time, I held on to this quote from Quiara Alegría Hudes, about the kind of theater she wants to see in a post-pandemic world: 

“I want rough spaces. I want surprising spaces. Spaces where I don’t necessarily know what I will experience when I show up. I crave theater made out of the rough-hewn stuff of our lives. A theater of junk and reclaimed nooks. A theater of secrecy and sacredness and participatory respect. A theater where we earn our experience by shedding complacency. A theater that no one in their right mind could label content.”

A few months ago I finally felt ready— simply getting beloved collaborators in a space again–to mess around. To keep it simple. I looked to a devising process I had been designing and testing before the pandemic, and realized it exemplified a lot of what Hudes is talking about.

In less than 3 weeks, 4 amazing collaborators— @liabonfilio @kristankellybrown @dremurillo @justajuggla — and I have used this process to create a piece of theater based on the true story of the 1984 kidnapping of world-class biathlete Kari Swenson in Montana.

We built it all from scratch, mostly using a bunch of junk I keep in a suitcase. It's gonna be wild, weird, messy, risky, vulnerable, and big-hearted—the only way I know how to/want to do the thing—I really hope you’ll come see!
