The most incredible past few days with @cbcq for TIFF 2022. Thank you @tomjoepower for always being so encouraging of my work and for being so generous with sharing your time and space. Thank you @rockhausen for getting so many brilliant Korean directors and actors on our show this year; I feel so proud to be Korean and honoured that we’re acknowledging Korean cinema and talent here.

Garden Salad is finally out now. YouTube link in my bio! Thank you for the patience, the support and all of the encouragement through this journey. It feels like a baby version of myself that wrote this script, but every few months as I would review and watch it again, I realized that the feelings that I wrote about always came back and I could still resonate with my 22-year-old self who first started the script. The feelings of imposter syndrome and feeling small still come back as a 26-year-old and there’s a sense of comfort in that I’ve continued to challenge myself and grow. I could not have made Garden Salad without the most incredible team that helped me figure out what it meant to direct and be on set. It’s funny to think about now how much I’ve learned since then, but thank you to the crew who made this possible, taught me so much, and made me fall even more in love with filmmaking. Hope you enjoy the film.

Daisies & A Kiss: Last Toast on the Coast! 🥂🌊
An unforgettable trip with my favorite people! On the plane ride from the Azores to Lisbon, I wrote my vows and it really started to hit me that we’re just one month away from the wedding. And then spending the next few days with my bridesmaids, I was so overwhelmed with love!!! What a gift it is to be celebrated by and celebrate with the people you love. This year has been filled with extreme highs and lows, but these highs have been meant so much more and I truly could not have gone through it without these girls. Eug, Mikie, Monica, Maria, Anita, Eponine and Agnes…love you infinitely 🩵💛💗

My grandma went to heaven today. We’ve been preparing for the last few months, but I’m still processing. It’s a painful thing to live so far from family and only be able to see them a handful of times in my life. But through my grandma, I have learnt about the most inspiring kind of love…
My grandma was handicapped for most of her life and it always broke my heart to see how difficult it was for her to do what seems like simple and obvious tasks. It meant that much more when she would make me my favorite food when I would visit, or pickle my favorite banchan and ship it over. She lived in a very small place by herself and I will never forget the summer that my sister and I went out to the store to try and get her some necessities to make life a little better for her. A cushion, a garbage can, all of the smallest things…she was so grateful for it and she always talked about it.
When I went to visit her in March, I knew that I would be saying goodbye. She had been in the hospital for months and my uncle told me to mentally prepare to see her— the last time we saw her, she was healthy, but this time, she hadn’t been able to stay awake, eat or speak all week. While my mom was speaking with the doctor, I prayed for her and played her my grandpa’s favorite song. She started singing and praying for me that she would be able to stay alive for my wedding. I know that I got to witness a miracle that time because shortly after, her memory deteriorated. Even though my heart is grieving, I feel so loved and am grateful that she passed peacefully and got to meet Kevin before she passed.
She is the biggest inspiration for my work about my family and I will keep writing to remember her. I love you, grandma moon! Now you can sing with grandpa ♥️

TIFF 2023 — interpreting for Uhm Tae Hwa’s ‘Concrete Utopia’.
I will very rarely say no to different opportunities so when this offer came through, I was terrified, but said yes because I wanted to meet a Korean director and be close to film. This was probably my biggest challenge as I’ve never interpreted before and have a lot of insecurity about my Korean. Even when I was in university, at TIFF, the Korean films I saw were screened at much smaller theatres, so being a Korean-Canadian and seeing Korean film being so widely celebrated is very meaningful to me. As I was going through the imposter syndrome and stress of preparing for this, @samyukthamovva called me and told me that me taking this opportunity is me honouring and respecting my culture and those words meant so much to me. I left Korea when I was six months old, but I have so much love for my culture and I’m so proud to be Korean. I’m grateful to be close to what I love and that I’m continually reminded of the dreams that I have…✨🎞️💌 Ps thank you Elizabeth and Edwin for these amazing photos!!!!! #콘크리트유토피아 #tiff2023 #토론토국제영화제 #concreteutopia

A long time coming! My directorial debut, Garden Salad, is finally in its festival run and I wanted to post an update on the status of my submissions. I made a joke that my only resolution for 2023 is to do the splits, but it’s also to learn how to celebrate my wins better. So far, Garden Salad has won best debut work at the Venice Art & Film festival, won Honourable Mention at the New York International Film Awards for best first time director for a short, selected for best first time director for a short film at the Cine Paris Film Festival and at the Geneve Awards. I’m still trying to figure out a Toronto screening for my short film, but until then, here are some beautiful stills shot by @younandy, who is also a finalist for best cinematography at Los Angeles Cinematography Awards, New York Cinematography Awards and the Canadian Cinematography Awards! It’s a very young version of myself who made this, but it feels like a time capsule of my journey as a director. Can’t wait to share more about this film. 🤍

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
