2025 was an amazing year for us. We played our biggest shows to date, including playing @arctangentfestival, headlining Red Crust Festival, a packed out headline show in London during our Autumn tour, and loads of other great shows and festivals playing with some bands that we never thought we’d get to. Our little weird music scene is in rude health, and there are so many amazing bands, promoters, and artists in the UK underground - you know who you are, and we love you for what you do.
It is not lost on us how lucky we are to be able to do this and that we see so many of you coming to shows again and again. Can’t wait to see you all on the road this year.
We’ve some very exciting things in store for 2026 including some stuff coming up very soon and tour announcements for later in the year; we’re also starting to get our heads down on album #3.

Last month, it was our pleasure to invite Edinburgh’s finest, @codespeaker down to Nottingham to brew up a tasty collab. We first met the lovely lads from Codespeaker while they were mid tour with @hundredyearoldman last year and we’ve be keen to get them down ever since. Playing the kind of crushing post-metal that has come to dominate my recent playlists, it was great to see them live last year at @billybootleggersnottingham for a packed out show. 🤘🖤🍻

For this beer, we’ve returned to one of our favourite styles here at Black Iris, the Black IPA. For me, there is no other beer style that encapsulates the kind of freedom and quest for innovation that thrived in the beer scene around 2014-18. We focused on pushing the initial pine bitterness in this beer with Cascade and Simcoe whole leaf in the boil, in good numbers to counteract the mat sweetness, while finishing El Dorado and Idaho 7 at pitch. The whole thing comes together with Strata T90 in conditioning. Chocolate, pine, orange, whilst all at a smashable 5% for extra drinkability. 🌲🍊🤘🍻

With some stark, brutalist artwork from comrade @kev_greythis beer has been flying out the brewery so far. Still available in 30L keykeg and 440ml cans. Cheers 🍻 🏙️🖤🌲🍊🤘
