We’re partnering with @dmusicmarketing - a Latin American music marketing agency actively connecting independent labels, artists and the regional listener and beyond - to present a guest curator who doesn’t show their face and doesn’t take requests.

AcidBaby is a writer and selector born in Lima, currently between Vancouver and somewhere warmer, chasing transmissions from the global club fringe. Experimental sound design, deconstructed electronics, ambient folk, post-everything. They study how LATAM aesthetics travel, mutate, and come home differently.
Their playlist is called Border Frequencies.

Electronica fractured through glass. UK bass speaking Spanish. Ambient folk from Caracas to Tokyo. Transmissions from the in-between, where LATAM’s avant-garde bleeds into the global underground and back.
This is a journey, not a recap.

Ten days ago we participated in @athens.music.week , where we curated a panel about music discovery and what it looks like when it’s driven by people, not taste-flattening algorithms.

It was a lively affair, fueled both by the unique perspectives our dear panelists brought to the table alongside valuable input by the audience too - so much so that we decided to document the key takeaways on our blog too.

The end of the conference also marked the end of this year’s @mteacademy cohort, an eye-opening period hopefully for the mentors and our fellow mentees alike, we want to wish everyone all the successin their respective projects and hopefully cross paths in the future as well!

@tijanatt needs little introduction - close to 20 years in Serbia’s music scene, 700+ shows across 60 countries, and a reputation built on acid-laced, genre-fluid sets that have filled rooms from Berghain to Boiler Room to Rainbow Disco Club. She is, by any measure, one of the most enduring forces on the global circuit.

Her @crates.app playlist is called Yugo. A personal archive drawn from Yugoslavia - the country she was born in, and the one that no longer exists. Progressive, liberal, culturally alive, and undone by nationalism and war. For her generation, that loss was formative. For the rest of us, this playlist is a window into something that feels increasingly like a 20th century Atlantis.

This one is a memory of an entire world.

ARNII is a club industry activist, culture commentator and DJ based between Tbilisi and Prague - with a decade building underground scenes, creative directing FUCHS2, and now running an independent practice helping artists navigate the current industry ecosystem. He’s as sharp on Instagram algorithms as he is on warehouse acoustics and a strong advocate of Georgian electronic music’s presence in Central & Eastern Europe, connecting Tbilisi’s emerging scene with the rest of the world.

His Crates playlist is called Melancholy At 140: Introduction to NEO-GRIME. Mid-pandemic, music stopped working for him. Then he fell into a rabbit hole of producers making something without a name - grime tempo, trance pads, the emotional gravity of wave music, club logic rebuilt around feeling. It brought him back.

Melancholy-drenched, floor-adjacent, sitting in the in-between where the best niche genres live. This is NEO-GRIME.

@dimitrazina is a Berlin based curator, DJ and radio host at the centre of the city’s jazz and soul scene and well beyond it. She’s managed productions for Mulatu Astatke, Butcher Brown and Abdullah Ibrahim, served on the executive board of the Berlin Club Commission, and curated programmes for Worldwide FM, Radio Alhara, Stegi Radio and Refuge Worldwide. Her DJ sets have taken her to acclaimed venues and festivals such as XJAZZ!, Jazz Re:Found and Fotografiska Berlin. The through line is always the same: music that is equally timeless and contemporary.

Her playlist “Side B”  follows her there - into the spaces where jazz, improvisation, broken rhythm and electronics blur into each other, taking off from familiar reference points and landing into unexpected destinations.

@_pink.wav is an Athens-based DJ and creative whose sets blur genre lines without losing the thread - bass, vocals, breaks and percussion woven into a sonic reflection of human complexity. Her mixes have aired on NTS, Kiosk Radio and Komrad, and she hosts her own show “time:stamps” on Stegi Radio. In parallel she’s been steadily making her mark on stages and festivals across Greece and beyond.

Her playlist for us is called Dub Descendants. A deep dig into dub’s long shadow - from Jamaican soundsystem culture to the UK, and into everything it’s shaped since. Dub-techno, jungle, drum & bass, dubstep and its most recent revival! This is her map of where the root system runs.

Here’s Pt.2 of Preparing a DJ set in Crates, with a stronger focus on Discogs collection digging and ripping to aiffs when venues don’t support turntables (booooo).

Metadata magic included.

Team member @stathis_kalatzis walks us through his @crates.app workflow, from local files screening to Bandcamp digging and vinyl ripping, to stitch together a banging hardgroove playlist. In the process he’s channeling the same energy that defined his early 00s Mr. Statik era and what that sound has transformed into these days.

Real digging hasn’t changed - just the software we use to do it. 🎥 @verybusythenia

Our next Crates Curated playlist is by someone who smoothly moves between the booth, the mic, the archive and the academy - and makes it all feel like one seamless experience.

@ninakeh , aka, Nina Kehagia is a DJ, broadcaster, researcher and cultural curator with over 16 years of tracing the deeper currents of electronic music. She hosts Devil’s Dancers on @resonancefm , leads content at global community @shesaid.so , and is currently in production on a documentary about Liverpool’s underground dance music histories. As if she weren’t busy enough, her PhD research runs alongside all of it - quietly complimenting everything.

Informed by her combined taste all these years, her playlist for us is called Afterhours: The Chill Out Room. Consider it a late morning (or night for that matter) exhale.

We’ve all heard the narrative: streaming stepped in and rescued a dying industry from the clutches of piracy. Major label revenues are at record highs, and access is infinite.

But for the artists making the music - and the listeners trying to find something that truly resonates with their taste - the reality is a lot more complicated. We’ve traded deep connection for “optimized” playlists. We’ve traded the thrill of the find for a feedback loop that plays it safe or is often dictated.

In our latest blog, we’re calling out the “Streaming Saved Music” narrative and why building a personal, intentional library matters now more than ever.

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
