I was listening to Man Down while I was in grand central and immediately had a that’s so raven moment and knew I had to do this freestyle visual. I’ve always resonated with this song because it speaks to my soul, as some one who has also experienced being taken advantage of, and have wanted to inflict pain. You see I ain’t never kill nobody, but I’m blessed enough to use my gifts that god gave me to produce from a portal of creativity from any emotional space I’ve experienced. If you listen, you’ll innerstand. Don’t ever stay a victim to anything we experience but become a leader and example of the person you’ve always needed for yourself, so you could be there for someone else! I see you ! And god sees you! WE GOT THIS ! 🙏🏾🤞🏾

Okay now character wise🤡, when I first had this vision it was around Halloween and the first villian I seen was Harley Quin.. yeah, BIG HARLEY! 🏏Her sexiness, craziness, silliness, wittiness, flexibility & strength was something I knew I could embody and wanted a woman villian squad there with me ! Shout out to ❤️❤️(“the Fenix”) @rise_of_the_fenixx & (“Raze”@this__flow for coming through, supporting me,and being fearless!

And for my man down, I wanted him to portray invincible, ego, untouchable, nonchalant about the pain he brings until we brought a can of WTA🔫 & he got touched 🤣Lolly ! We loveeee a before and after😍
Buttons here writing the caption ! Figured I’d share some of the behind the scenes on this incredibly fun one ✨ I just LOVE how the location and lighting brought this entire vision to life.
Backstory:
Tony and I met up literally once at a cafe- our first time ever having a creative meeting mind you- and nailed down all the logistics for this in one go down to my ideal cast, the budget and dates. This project happened to have unfolded for me during one of my busiest periods of the summer in between teaching intensives and choreographing for several projects, so I ended up just letting this track marinate in my brain for weeks but not having the chance to workshop anything physically. I had the foresight to clear my schedule the day before our rehearsal and created all this movement in one afternoon based on the ideas in my head that we had laid out and pictures of the venue. I had one rehearsal to teach the cast and Tony all the movement and i knew my cast was all stars, but DAMN did they bring it to life 😍 And don’t get me STARTED on Tony’s performance quality and quick pickup on the camera movement! 🥹🥹 I’m so so proud.
Last but NEVER least, it almost goes without saying that my girl @crickvisuals took my my mock rehearsal video and gave me exactly what I wanted. We had just a few hours to set up, film and get out and she lit and filmed that location to perfection😍. This turned out to be just the moody dreamy fantasy we were looking for and I couldn’t be happier to have directed the vision. Congratulations on your first video release Tony- here’s to many more!!

This one was QUICK! From @ukno_itschulo coming to @fatimayana_ with the initial idea to us working through the concept, meeting to choreograph, holding a single rehearsal and then the actual video shoot itself- it was all under a week 😮‍💨

We are so beyond grateful to the lovely owner of @blue_nailssalon for hearing about our project and providing the space, @crickvisuals for running backwards at Olympic speeds through furniture to capture our one takes lmao and to our incredible press on nail tech @tippedbykenz for crafting 3 amazing sets in 48 hours to make our vision pop :,) If you have the time and funds, SUPPORT THESE INCREDIBLE LADIES!
Thank you to @ukno_itschulo for not only thinking up the original idea but showing up, killing his role and bringing us food after the shoot too 😭🥹
