Dawn in the Flome constructs a hybrid natural system between reality and fiction, nature and the artificial. Its geography and organisms are neither purely natural nor purely synthetic, but exist in continuous evolution. The visual system is driven by cross-species mutation, where insects merge with stone, hybridise with flowering plants, and plants fuse with mineral structures. These transformations parallel the sound design, as synthesised tones and organic textures gradually blend and modulate.

Rather than fixed forms, the visuals operate as an ongoing process. Forms grow, morph, fragment, and recombine through gradual transformation, maintaining a hypnotic flow without breaking the underlying pulse. Guided by a speculative evolutionary framework of variation, adaptation, convergence, and speciation, the work constructs an audiovisual ecology of uncanny landscapes and hybrid species.

I’m excited to share an audio visual collaboration with Chun-Tien Hsiao @d.ebster for ‘Versun’, the upcoming digital bonus track of my @dans_recs EP. 🌀

I see this ambient piece as a reflection of light in a natural setting and Chun-Tien was able to translate this into abstracted 3D forms, shapes and light, reflecting on the original idea in her own beautiful way.

‚Last Transmissions From Jevvers‘ is coming out on the 18th July on Vinyl and digitally via @dans_recs 🌿

After hearing the track, I began visualising abstract, organic forms in a continuous state of growth and repetition, scenes where natural light interacts with glass-like structures, reflecting, refracting, and softly glowing. Translucent particles, metallic contours, liquid shapes, and water droplets subtly mirror their surroundings.

The visuals, created through 3D composition, draw inspiration from the behaviour of light in nature. By day, it pierces through and refracts. At dusk, it turns golden and transitional. And by night, it softens into a quiet self-illumination, reminiscent of glass-textured botanical forms and delicate natural structures.
